09' Rear Cargo Protector - Click HERE for Original Thread
red kiosk
For those with an LE that are undecided about purchasing the rear cargo protector because the LE comes with a rear pop-up storage organizer, I highly recommend it. Nissan did a great job designing it with "bendable" joints that act like hinges and allow access to either of the two side storage wells or the pop-up organizer, all without removing the protector. It fits like a glove, doesn't shift at all, but allows unencumbered access to all storage wells when you need it. I'm luvin' this car MOre and MOre! Just my two cents worth. Take care!

Just picked up my new 09 LE last Saturday. The only thing I didn't get was the rear seat DVD (my youngest is 17 and 6'6" and has his own 08 Altima :)

Just before I signed for the loan with them I suggested to the sales manager that he wanted to give me a cargo protector at no charge, point made I pick it up tomorrow...

Great detailing with the articulated mat joints! I had one on my 04 Pathfinder LE that I traded in that was a solid rubber mat, great protection, but a pain to get under.

I agree, I love my cargo protector... can still access all areas with ease.

I purchased a cargo mat from a Nissan dealer in Texas that has an on-line store. I received it yesterday and it seems just a little too big near the left and right storage bins. This makes the cargo mat buckle slightly in the middle. I made sure that they sent me the correct one by matching the part number. What was strange was that the label on the plastic bag that it came in stated it was for a 2008 Murano. I am a bit disappoint in the fit.

They could have sent you the wrong one, for it should fit perfectly with no buckling at all OR it needs to form fit a bit to your cargo space. Mine arrived folded in half and needed to "warm" up some before it laid flat everywhere. If the seams or hinge areas line up exactly with corresponding storage wells you received the correct one The Nissan part number for the one I have is #999C3-CU000BK and it did say "2008" on the instruction sheet that came packaged with it. Hope this helps. Take care!

I think I have the correct one. I saw a 2007 mat on-line and it is different. It is fitting better now. They had it folded up in a box and when I installed it last night it was creased. This morning it seems fine. It is very nice.

Mine fits perfectly without any problems, maybe they sent you the wrong mat?

Any way we could get some pictures???

I had to get physical with my network connection :) The wife reported it down all day and after wrestling with two routers on the network I just ripped one out and reconfigured... But this isn't a network forum :6:

I just tossed the bag that the mat came in but I'd be happy to take a pic or two sometime tomorrow...

Love my 09 after having an 03 for 5 years Just a question about the cargo protector, Did you or have you considered slicing it so that just the center part comes up when you open the small cargo carrier so that the sdes stay down?
LeMurano
... slowly I turned, step by step... (sorry couldn't resist!) :runaway:

Actually I did consider it, but sometimes I carry stuff back there (from the beach etc.) that would fall through the cracks, as it were and defeat the purpose of the protection...

I see your point, I think I will leave it as is for now and see if it is really a hassle or not. Thanks for the reply

I know my LE had this noted in my options. But my eyes say I have nuthing but carpet in my cargo area. Does anyone have a pic of this mythical Rear Cargo Protector. I would really like to make sure I get this from my dealer. Much appreciated.

Thanks fitc. I just called the dealer to see where is my rear cargo protector. I'm hoping they deliver on it. I actually saw your pics when you first posted about the WeatherTech floor liners. I bought the liners before I physically got my MO because of your posting. Thanks for your pictures on all the liners, it really helped me out..twice.

You are very welcome. You've made the right choice ordering the Rear Cargo Protector.

Now we just need that rear bumper protector. Come on, Nissan, get your poop in a group!!!

I just picked mine up yesterday and it's pretty cool. Nice Nissan logo on it. I thought the rubber/plastic was a bit firmer but as long as it does the job, it's all good.
