Just wanted to share this. I bought the 14 inch wiper blade from Walmart and it wouldn't fit. Didn't want to ride to the dealership so after a little looking I realized you can remove the arms from the blade of the factory one and replace them with the walmart one. Basically use the main spreader from the original and the smaller arms from the pylon blade. This allows you to just replace the refill later so no more trips to the dealer.
You can break out the fatory arms by sliding a small screwdriver through the slot in the plastic pivot pin and breaking the pin out. For the pylon spread the ears and push in the two retaining tabs. It will then compress into the factory spreader. Put a drop or two of superglue or epoxy to make sure it doesn't come out and your done. Also you now go from haveing pressure at 4 points along the blade to 6. Seems to be working fine will let you know if I have any problems |
