The windshield wipers on my 2005 Murano are very noisy. I'm not talking about squeeky sounds from wiper on glass. I'm talking about a loud "clunk" with every cycle of the blades. I suspect that the driver side wiper arm is improperly set on the spindle; every time the arm goes down to the bottom of the windshield we get the "clunk" again. I had this problem with an old Ford. I simply removed the arm and rotated how it fit on the spindle by one notch clockwise, then replaced the retaining nut. I was going to try this on the Mo but I can't get the arm off the spindle. Can you help?
Any helpful knowledge or link regarding this issue is appreciated. |

| I discovered that J C Whitney sells a tool just for removing the wiper arms on the Murano. (I took that info as a bad sign.) I removed the plastic cap, removed the retaining nut, and sprayed a little WD 40 in there. After a few minutes I found, quite by accident, that I could pivot the arm around the bolt, so I moved it a few degrees and re-installed the nut and cap. Problem apparently solved. :D |
