I would not consider an '09. I have been a MO owner since '03 (no plans to get rid of it unless I win the lottery).
My reasons are: Really can't justify another 15-16 mpg town driving vehicle; the missing 17 cubic feet interior space; cheapened down the excellent TPMS; 20" wheels/tires; still has the weak transfer case.
I will think of more, but the next one has to be a hybrid or a good turbodiesel (still no beauty @ $4.50/gal)..... |

How do you know it has the same transfer case? The AWD system is different on the 2nd gen, with a 50/50 bias when initially accelerating and a 70/30 bias when cornering. That is an improvement over the "AWD comes on when slippage occurs" in the 1st gen. |

15 to 16 MPG town driving. Where did you get that from! I got 19.5 on my first tank and getting close to 20 on my second. Keep your '03. Nissan isn't going to go bankrupt if you don't buy an '09. The '09 is miles ahead of the '03 anyway. The interior is far superior to your '03. You obviously don't know what you are talking about. Maybe you should trade your MO for a Chevy. |

cwirth-
It looks like ekaxel is raining on your parade. Why else would you respond in the fashion you did?
I would think ekaxel definitely knows what he is talking about, considering he has owned a MO a lot longer than all of us. He knows that it is very possible for a MO to get 16 mpg in spirited city driving because his MO is yielding 16 mpg around town. And yes, it is a fact that the MO's limited cargo space has been reduced further in the 2009 MOs. (The trade-off is the fact that we still have a very spacious rear seat.) And yes, the TPMS is not as sophisticated. And the rest of his comments reflect his personal preferences.
So why slam him by saying he does not know what he is talking about and telling him to trade the MO for a Chevy?
This site is known as a well-informed and very friendly forum. It is also known as a place where members can share opinions and not worry about being slammed by others if they disagree with their opinions. Please keep that in mind.

Gonzo,
I imagine you with a cheesy grin all the time!:D :D :D :D |

| I've noticed those kinds of attack responses on this forum, even from the moderators. Ekaxel is obviously citing all the negatives and none of the positives of the 09. So what? I would only ask for his data about MPG, Xfer case, etc. They seem rather bold statements without support. |

| I am truly sorry I started this thread. It is obvious that the forum has a new class of people now that I really don't want to be associated with. So this will truly be my LAST post.... |

Maybe you're just mimicking the grille of your first generation MO. As a first time MO owner, I'm liking MY somewhat different, but still cheesy grin so much that I'm thinkin' of getting a new driver's license photo. Take care!

Hey there ekaxel... to each their own. I hope you continue to enjoy that old Mo and find happiness with another "class of people" elsewhere.
As that was your "last post", I suppose we won't be hearing from you again, unless that last remark was a "super senior" moment :)
Sorry, I couldn't resist... but as a member of this new class of people on this forum I take a bit of offense at your wholesale categorization. |

LeMurano-
That is uncalled for. Show some respect. If it were not for guys like ekaxel there would be a lot less information on this forum for you to reference.
New class of people?? You are kidding me, right? Your remarks show just how class-less you are. :21:

| Ok people, no need to argue here - whether it is questioning another poster's motivations, or subjectively "classless" remarks. I'll lock this thread in the morning after everyone has had their say and vented their thoughts. |

MOD: As promised. thread locked. Hold on, I'm not a mod on this forum. I'll do this later on.
