The bolts come with the hitch (when you purchase it new). Due to the stress that is put on them I would suggest contacting your parts dept. at your dealer and seeing if you can purchase a replacement set. I have a few installation pics in my gallery if you want to see what they look like. |

I agree with cya442.
The other option is to get the bolt rating info through Curt Hitch for the bolts. There are 5 bolts and "sprung" washers in total. 4 are M12-1.25 X 40 thread and 1 at M10-1.25 X 35 thread.
Here is a link from Curt Hitch http://fileresource.sitepro.com/fil...D236BF0E54F.pdf |

Actually; here's another idea.
If you go to a local U-Haul; they will have the proper bolts and washers for you.
Remember to use a Torque Wrench when you install. |

As for the number of bolts - it will depend on the type of hitch you have (Nissan, Curt, etc.). You could also purchase grade 8 bolts (just to be safe) from your local auto parts store but you will need to know the sizes. The below link is to the installation manual for the Nissan hitch.

IF the hitch you bought is an OEM factory hitch you have a lot of work to do because you have to remove the bumper fascia and replace part of the bumper. A Uhaul, Curt or most aftermarket hitches are easy to install and require 5 or 6 bolts depending on the hitch. |

Huskyfan is right.
If I were you, I would sell it and get a Curt. |

I've been happy with my Curt:4:
It covers up the muffler nicely too. Paid $60.00 for a new one and $45.00 for delivery. |

thanks alot guys for the info.
I finally got the time today to install my hitch (new hidden hitch, just purchased). Took the muffler down and the braket off, but could not screw in the bolts. I have a2005 MO and the fillets are all rusted, tryed using some cleaner but it did not work.
The bolts are the good size because they came with the hitch. (12 X 40mm)
Tomorow I will phone a mecanic to get a quote on install, did this already append to someone.
Thanks |

| My weldnuts in the frame was rusted also. Had to buy a tap and tap them out. I believe the tap was an M12 x 1.25. You can double-check it against the bolts you have on hand. |

thanks alot for the info bikerjohn
I read the reply too late. I had it done by a mechanic and it's exactly what he done. The price i payed to get it installed would of payed for a tap set, too bad.
Thanks again |

| I have not noticed any feed back on the different wiring harness hook ups. I am installing an aftermarket hitch, but decided to get a factory wiring harness. Because I didn't want to be cutting into the wiring harness like the after market units. I am here to tell you I think the factory way to go is the only way. It was easy to install. Fits and works great. |

The wiring I installed was the Canadian OEM Nissan harness. Nissan Canada does not have the connector-type harnesses and even if they did; the cars here do not use the connector-types used in the US model. Go figure! |

You are correct, in fact no one at a hitch shop wants to wire in a after market wiring kit due to the concerns on the computer. The dealer charges $75 for this work. You would think the nissan woulsd wire all NA cars the same. The world wonders. |
