I tried searching the forums for an answer to my question but could not find any thread that addresses this. So accept my apologies if this is a repeat.
Is there a procedure to follow if I am planning to switch gas grades? I remember the dealer mentioning emptying the tank before switching to a different grade of gasoline, but not sure what he meant by "emptying the tank". Does it mean my tank should not have even a single drop of older gasoline grade? Can the guy at the gas station do this or do I have to take my Mo to the dealer? |

By gas grade; I'm assuming that you what to use a different Octane rating?
If so; no need to do anything. Just fill up with whatever you want to use and drive.
Repeat when empty:2: |

Yes, I was referring to using a different Octane rating. I wanted a confirmation before I do it . Thanks for the response. |

You can mix octanes - it won't affect anything. No special procedure.
Keep a log on what mileage you get with different octane levels and let us know what you find.;) |

Sure thing. I have been using "Regular" for the past 6 months and have been getting 18.5mpg on an average. The low average is mostly because I have to drive through NYC where you have to wait for hrs for the traffic to move and when it moves the traffic is bumper to bumper with constant stops. I wanted to see if there is any change on using premium grade. |
