Servicing a Murano with 130 000kms - Click HERE for Original Thread

Hey Everyone,

Mine has 130 000kms on it. Bought it off lease with 80 000kms on it.

I have never done a maintenence as they say other than oil changes at the stations.

At this point what should I do to avoid a expensive problem?

Timing belts, tranny service that kind of stuff.

Thanks for any and all help.

The link above is a good one - the maintenance schedule is also in your owners manual.

As for the things you listed.

* The Murano has a timing chain that doesn't have to be replaced. No timing belt.

* It might be worth changing the transmission fluid - make sure your shop or dealer uses Nissan NS2 CVT fluid - anything else will ruin the transmission.

Other than that, follow the owners manual.

Two things I would do is have the dealer check the condition of the CVT fluid before making the decision to change it out. At 98000 Kms I had mine check and it showed a reading of 12125 (no units) Nissan says not to change it out till it reaches 250,000.

Secondly, you may want to change out the sparkplugs, the manual indicates 160,000, but when you are that close it is something to consider, however my dealer quotes me $580.00 (all in) to change the plugs out, parts and labour included.
