| Had the car two months...so far we've had the brake pads replaced and rotors turned to stop the most god awful squeal you ever heard...took 2 trips to the dealer....last week front monitor went haywire...would'nt display properly and clock lost time...turning off and restarting engine and resetting clock has fixed problem so far....Today wife could'nt get car to shift out of park....called dealer and they explained procedure to disengage shift lock ,so far so good...luckily it happened in town and I was there to help(dealer is 90 miles away) add to this paint that scratches if you look at wrong and I'm starting to be disappointed in what I thought was a great car....DEaler always says "We've never heard of these problems in this car" but these messasge boards are full of people having same or similar problems....wish I'd found these boards before buying...Not exactly the quality I expected in a $ 35,000.00 car...I thought Nissan quality was better |

| ok.....maybe not full, but on this forum and NICOClub.com there are several instances of problems with shifter locking up and brake squealing problems back to 04....paint seems to be an on goiing issue....Today headlights would'nt cut off and menu selections on front display "Greyed Out" and could'nt be accessed....again an intermittant problem....gotta love those electrical gremlins. I kept an eye on Service bulletin section of Motor Magazine before buying...saw hardly any problems related to any Nisssans... |

Some of the menu options may only be accessible when you are either stopped or in Park.
I have never heard of a shiftlock problem on the Murano, but I would wager if you have the issue, it is the brake-safety-interlock switch which isn't releasing. |

| Apparently if you have headlight switch set to "Auto" and you cut the car off while the headlights are on,and don't open the door the lights WILL stay on for at least 5min. before going out. Everything else shuts off within a couple min. I tested it on the loaner the dealer gave me while they work on mine. On the display "Greying Out" issue....Some selections would grey out and become available again as I scrolled top to bottom among the same selections, example: Audio would grey out , scroll to botom of list and back , it may or may not become available again. Dealer said there was a software update on the clock problem, and he hoped that would fix the other display problems, as far as the shift lock issue I wonder if its somehow tied in with the brake pad replacement since you have to push brake petal to shift out of park ? |
