| Normally I hardly use any additives since with proper maintenance and the quality of todays gas and oil, they mostly aren't necessary. However a friend raved about BG 44K fuel system cleaner and says it is used by automotive mechanics. Does anyone have any experience with this product? |

| BG44k is good, and so is Chevron Techron Concentrate. |

Almost all gas that you pump already contains some of these additives, so you can't really avoid them completely even if you wanted to. But yes, most car companies now do not recommend using extra, particularly for new vehicles. Primarily because they simply aren't needed, not because they do harm. |

| Thanks for the replies. I did not plan on using BG 44K it on my 07 Mo. I was thinking of our second car a 5+ year old Pontiac (Toyota) Vibe with 62,000 miles. It's running OK but maybe I can skip a preventative throttle body service. |

Well, I seriously doubt that it could HURT anything, and is a relatively cheap thing to try. I'd give it a go, but don't hope for miracles.
I remember previous threads (I think on this forum) where people reported some pretty impressive results on older cars, but if I remember correctly they were OLD and running very rough. Try searching for "Techron", I think it always seems to pop up on those threads. |
