Hello to everyone.
This is my first time participating in any discussion forum ever.I really like the way people help each other here. This site has already given me plenty of useful informations.
5 months ago I bought used 2006 Mo sl awd in good condition with 57000miles on it.Although I don't have any serious problems,I would like to ask you all about two issues I am little worried about.CD player stopped working ,when I insert cd it beeps and shows check disc message all the time plus 6 cd changer is making weird long noises especially after I turn off the ignition.Second issue is when the car gets into low rpm,not making a full stop, then press gas pedal I hear a rattling noise from below,I secretly hope it is not CVT.
All suggestions to determine and fix these problems are appreciated.
Sincerely MARK
one more question: What are the main differences between US and Canadian models? |

Welcome to the forum.
May I ask what happened when your cd player stopped working? playing then stopped? Turned off then never worked again? Did it make that sound before it stopped working? If you had 6 discs in the unit were you able to get them all out?
Sorry for all the questions.
The rattle could be a loose heat shield around the exhaust.
As far as I know the only difference between a Canadian and US model Murano is daylight driving lights. The Canadian model has it while the US does not.
Best Regards,

I believe that there was a TSB for a loose exhaust bracket - this could cause the rattling noise you describe.
As for the "check disk" error, best to have the dealer check it out. I think usually the head unit needs to be replaced but who knows what they can do to possibly fix it. |

Before the cd player stopped working, everything was fine,it played any cd's I inserted without problems.I never had all 6 cd's in the unit, discs are ejecting fine.I think there could be a heat factor involved, week ago at night I inserted several different original discs and it worked fine for 5 minutes, then in the middle of song beeping sound with check disc error, that's how it happened for the first time too. I have a question regarding the maintenance. At 60 K what are the most important things to do? |

Well with the cd player you are probably going to have to have the dealer check it out like Eric said. I bought my Murano used and the person before me had put a cd in with a stick on label. It came off. Lucky for me I was able to get it fixed right away. They told me the tech was able to get it out without replacing the unit. I had been able to load my disc but they wouldnt play and then I couldnt get them out. The unit basically jammed. Sorry I cant help you with that.
As for the 60k maintenance. It just happens to be one of the major ones. Your AWD model calls for all the major fluids to be changed... CVT, Tranfer case and engine oil would be on the top of my list. If you are going to do it yourself, I believe there is a post on how to do it on this forum.
To see the full list of the maintenance you can go to nissanusa.com. Go into the owner section then goto maintenance.
Best Regards,
