| Sorry if this is in another thread but I just installed the factory XM in my 06 and I don't have any manuals. Is there a users guide somewhere or could someone tell me if there is a way to enter a channel number directly? I know I can store them on the presets which I've done but I was wondering if there is a way to go directly to a channel. |

A copy of all Owner's Manuals in pdf format is located in the Knowledge Base.
Do you see the tool bar at the top of this page? It reads...
home | forums | gallery | chat | knowledge base | games...
The info you are looking for should be there.

I wish there was a way to enter a channel number directly but there isn't. |

Dont mean to hijack this thread but I have a sat radio question.
My MO is equiped with a Bose system and there is indeed a sat button on the head unit faceplate.
Is there a way for me to find out if there is a sat radio installed and which? Sirius or XM.
My understanding is that Bose should have a sat piece standard. However, Im having some trouble finding instructions on how to activate a subscription.
Should I just call XM and give them my vin number? |

What year MO do you have?
IF you have the sat box installed (which is completely separate from the Bose head unit), then when you hit the SAT button it should show up on the display with either "XM" or "<something else for sirius>". Most likely it will default to the "preview" channel, which is primarily ads for that particular service. With XM, that is channel 1. If you go down one channel to 0, it gives the radio ID, which is what you need to have in order to activate your account and start receiving channels.
I believe that if you DON'T have a sat box installed, when you hit the button it will say "No Sat". |

My MO is 2005 SL, tech package and right now when I hit sat the display shows NO SAT.
Assuming that I dont have one installed is there a way to retrofit my MO? |

Thanks.
Looks like im missing the whole "pre-wired" part too.
How in the world could that be the case in a car with the top end tech package and nav system anyway.
Shame... I was hoping to avoid spending $400 just to get sat radio working. This looks like a job for an aftermarket installer. |

| There is a guy at Trophy Nissan in Dallas named Mark that sells the factory sat units for pretty cheap. He is in the internet sales area so if you call Trophy they should be able to direct you to him. He said that the install for the SAT was very easy and almost anyone with even the most basic tools and knowledge should be able to handle it. If I had known how cheap and easy it was to add I probably would have done it rather than going the PAC route with my Audiovox Xpress XM unit that I have mounted on my dash. |

I have a question that falls along the same lines, with a twist.
I just purchased a 2005 Murano (love it) and when I first was driving the SAT button would provide the expected introductory stations and the XM id.
This recently stopped and now when SAT is pushed there is the "No SAT" message.
Any idea what may have happened? Is this an expiration issue on the account?
TIA |

Shouldn't be an expiration or anything, it should always have the preview channel (1) and the radio ID (0).
I think perhaps a plug came loose. If you don't have an XM subscription, I would ignore it. Not doing you any good anyway! :)
To fix, I would start by looking at the plugs into the XM box, which is right behind the left rear seat. Just make sure everything is nice and tight. |

OK, finally had time in the daylight to look at this. All the plugs look tight and nothing looks out of order.
Noticed in the manual states;
"No satellite radio reception is available and “NO
SAT” will be displayed when the SAT button is
pushed unless the optional satellite receiver and
antenna were factory installed (late availability
only/retrofit unavailable), and an XM or SIRIUSTM
satellite radio service subscription is active."
From this I feel that unless there is an active subscription the NO SAT will be displayed. Anyone else run into this?
Thanks in advance. |

I don't agree. You should still get the preview station and the radio ID station. When you call up to subscribe to XM, they tell you to tune to channel zero and give them your radio id. NO SAT means that the radio cannot communicate with the box at all.
I canceled my XM subscription about 2 years ago. I still get the preview and radio ID channels. The only time I saw NO SAT was when I had the box unplugged.
Did you check the plugs in the back of the radio in addition to the ones on the XM box? |

| Might also want to check the antenna and its connections to the reciever. |
