| I just noticed a '09S on an ebay auction, and it had an orange screen. Has Nissan gone away from the color screen on the low end '09? |

| I thought the color was standard on 09's. |

So did I, but according to the Nissan website the "Information Center with 7.0" color monitor" is not available on the "S" and is part of the Premuim Package on the SL. It is standard on the LE.

| Color was made standard in the 2005's I think with the rear view camera's. I've driven the ones with the orange screen. I wouldn't want one, mine has the color screen because of the nav. A color screen now is cheap, why would they try to save a buck doing this? |

Actually, they were made standard for the 2006 model year. I have a 2005 SL and it has the orange screen.
The 2006 S model has the color screen but the 2009 S does not. A step backwards, perhaps?

Trying to save a buck and keep the price low on the S, while making it more attractive/persuasive for potential buyers to move to the SL or LE.
Seems to me like they're really positioning the S as "entry-level" and the SL and LE as the vehicles that they think people will want to own. |
