On my 07 SL, I had the Nissan Dealer install the XM radio and IPOD adaptor when I first purchased the car last summer. Everything works OK. But I noticed a few weeks later that the XM radio started to only display about 6 characters in the Song and Artist. I thought this was strange because it used to show much more. When the IPOD is hooked up, I get about 25-30 characters displaying in the song and title. For the first few months this would happen intermittently. Then it finally did it all the time. I've complained to the Nissan Dealer and they blame XM.
Recently, I figured out that the XM display would work properly only if when I start the car I turn the ignition on so that the LCD/NAV/Radio would come on and the XM loads data. I then quickly shut off the ignition and then turn it back on and start the car. Voila! It works perfectly.
Has anyone else out there experience this problem? |

Wow, that's really strange. I certainly haven't had that problem on my '05. XM will display 10 chars, ipod seems unlimited.
Good luck on getting the dealer to admit something is wrong. If you pester them often enough, they might be willing to just re-install everything to see if it fixes the problem just to make you go away.
I guess what you need is to find another MO set up the same way (but that works) and have BOTH vehicles in the dealer to show them the comparison.
Make sure to let the service manager know that you'll be reporting all very low marks on the service survey from Nissan due to the fact that they're refusing to fix your problem. That MIGHT snap them out of their laziness. |
