I got a notice in the mail from my Nissan dealership that i'm due for my 36K service - i only have 32K and 2K on the oil. I then opened up the service manual and noticed all the scheduled services at soemthing like 3 month intervals!!
Does anyone follow this? Sounds like a huge money grabber to me and overkill.
I'm a little concerned if i dont it will void my warranty. |

| Nissan recommends changing oil between 3k and 7.5k depending on how and where you drive. Time intervals really do not matter unless you have "tons" of one mile "hoppers" where engine does not operate hot for long. Otherwise don't worry. |

2007Murano-
First of all, throw away the dealer's maintenence reminder. It is nothing more than a revenue generator for the dealer.
Secondly, there is no need to bring your car to the dealer for maintenence. You will not void your warranty by doing the work elsewhere. Just save your receipts in the rare case the dealer requests proof of maintenence for warranty work.
Most people follow one of the two maintenence schedules listed in the manual. It requires very little to maintain the MO. Just change the oil and filter every 7,500 (or less) miles, the cabin filter once a year, and the engine air filter when it is dirty. That's about it. The plugs are good for 105,000 miles and the coolant should be changed after 4 years. Piece of cake. There are no expensive "milestone" check-ups.

Here are some things to check/replace. Check the manual for replacment schedules and/or search for the forrum for thousands of opinions. :p
Oil
Oil Filter
Cabin Air Filter
Check battery water level
CVT fluid
AWD System fluids
Coolant
Drive belts
Spark Plugs (105,000K)
I have my own schedule based on my preferences, Nissan recommendations and my own paranoia. :4: |
