This is my first post. We've just purchased a good condition glacier pearl 2005 SL with ~44K miles on it. I think we've got O.K. deal with price 500-1000 below edmunds TMV dealer prices, and exterior and interior color wifey likes.
But I'm having a second thought about the preferred extended warranty due to bad reputation of Nissan service department. We paid ~2100$ for 4 /48K. I drive an older subaru SVX and usually do maintenance and repair myself. But we got the extended warranty on murano since we were somewhat scared about CVT issues and since its wife's car and I wanted her to take it to dealer whenever there is warranty coverable problem, without waiting for me to have time to work on the car.
Question. 1. If I cancel the exended warranty before the times up do they properly prorate the fee and return?
2. Will they honor the warranty work, if I do scheduled maintenance work my self? If I show reciept for parts purchases and perhaps picture of parts putting in?
3. Let say if I forget to do oil change done till its 1500 miles over than what the schedule requires. Will they refuse to honor the warranty? If so, if we cancel the warranty will we get properly prorated fee back?
