Kumho Solus Kr21 Checkin - Click HERE for Original Thread

I have about a year's worth on my Kumho's now.
Over 20, 000 miles.
These tires are holding up well and seem to have settled in nicely and the ride is much better than when they were 1st purchased.
They are still quiet, wearing evenly because of regular rotations and pressure checks.

I was just wondering if others who have them on can check in with their results and observations.

Thanks!

I have just under 20k miles on mine and I am very happy with them. I have yet to rotate them, or rebalance for that matter. As the result, I have a slight vibration around 65 to 70 mph but other than that there are no problems. They are still very quite. The rear tires seem to have just as much thread left on them as when they were new! But that is again because I have not rotate them yet so all the wear has been on the front. Overall, I think these have been great tires.

Can anyone comment on wet pavement and puddle traction? I was curious as to how the Kumhos would be for our Seattle weather. I'm extremely pleased with my Yoko YK520 set for that reason, but they ARE louder than the OEMs. Fair trade-off for me, but if the Kumhos are just as good but quieter (not to mention cheaper), that might be my next set.

I went through a couple of rains last winter when they were new and I thought the tires had great wet traction. I do not have any snow experience with them, and am not sure how the wet traction is going to be this winter with the tires worn out a bit.

That is good to hear. It seems the Kumhos are pretty good tires if you can find a set that can be balanced correctly.

Been a couple years on my Yokos now and they have been excellent in wet, dry, and snow. Only caveat is that they decrease my fuel economy by 1-2mpg due to the wider footprint (I went with 265/60 instead of 235/65) and probably greater rolling resistance.

I'm only at 6000 miles, about to have them rotated for the first time. So far so good, a
*little* harder than the goodyears, but I'm still pleased.

That's WAY too long to wait to rotate any set of tires. That is, if you want to get long life out of them, of course.

I know, but no time to go to Walmart where I had them mounted and bougth my lifetime rotation and balance, or the dealer. In fact I have had to chnge my own oil twice, around midnight because I am busy all day! But I know I am way behind on tire rotation...

I think my tires have softened up and settled in quite nicely. The ride is much improved over the 1st few months that I had them. Proper balancing and alignment has made the tires ride much better. I originally had issues with balancing, but done but a proper technician, the issues have been fixed.

Since I am in NC, we get rain on occasion and the tires have held great. No snow or ice to play with and I hope this winter is as good as last year.

Funny you mention oil changing along with tire rotation, because that's exactly when I do my rotations (to make sure they get done on a regular basis). And I too do both oil changes and rotations myself.

I'm currently over 54 K miles on my original Eagle LS's, and still have life left in them.
