I bought my car from a nissan dealership a couple of miles from me. Would it be a problem if I take my Mo to another dealership's service center for the reg. scheduled maintenance?
Thanks! |

You really don't have to take it to a NISSAN dealership for regular maintenance for your warrant to be valid. As long as the regular maintenance(or proof thereof) is kept; you are ok.
BTW-What year is your MO? |

RoNYC-
You can take your MO to any Nissan dealership for repair and maintenence. Many people take their cars to dealers other than where they originally bought their MOs.
Most dealers will show preference to those who purchased their cars from them, but they will never turn away business.

Yeah the vehicle warranty is from the manufacturer (Nissan) and not the dealerships (which are individual franchises not owned by Nissan). So any Nissan dealer has to honor the manufacturers warranty.
Now some dealers sell extended warranties - unless its a Nissan warranty, you might be tied to that dealership for that particular warranty. |

| Everyone is assuming you have a brand new Murano. Do you? If so, any dealer or mechanic can do the work and your warranty will not be affected. If you bought a used car and the dealer you bought the car from is giving you extended warranty, then they usually stipulate that all warranty work must be performed at that dealership. Other maintenace work can be done anywhere, unless your used car warranty contract states otherwise. |

If your MO has less than 36k miles, you are allowed to buy Nissan's extended warranty which will be honored at any Nissan dealer. However, some dealers may give you, or sell you, their own warranty. For those, you can only go to them. |

Sorry kinda slow tonight...just to sum it up:
Any "recommend scheduled maintenance" I can go to any Nissan shop/reputable shop.
Any warranty issues I have to go to the dealer where I purchased my car.
Is this accurate?
Thanks |

Maybe!
1- If you bought the car brand new (you said it is a 2007 so it could go either way) you can go to any place for maintenance and any dealer for warranty work.
2- If you bought the car used but it comes with Nissan's extended warranty, see #1
3- If you bought the car used and got "that" dealers's warranty, you need to go to them. If this is the case, I would read the contract very carefuly to make sure they will not deny warranty work if you have your maintenace done elsewhere. |
