Sudden loss of acceleration - Click HERE for Original Thread
loobyloo
I purchased my 2004 Murano new and have absolutely loved it until May of this year. I am having a serious problem and have lost all confidence driving my Murano. The last incident was tonight and I almost got hit from behind but thankfully the driver behind me was paying attention. In May 08 and twice this month (Sept 08) my vehicle will suddenly lose power - the engine does not shut off but absolutely no acceleration. Check engine light comes on. On all three occasions I had to turn off engine and wait a while and it starts up as if nothing is wrong. It was in the dealership two weeks ago and they said there was a wiring problem (Code P2135) and they fixed it. Same thing again tonight and I am still pretty shaken up as it was in the rush hour. Took it back to the dealership and caused a stink as I had to pay for them to diagnose and repair it last time as guess what...my extended warranty did not cover it. I refused to pay a diagnosis fee again and stood my ground until they arranged for rental. My car has only 35,000 miles on it - any advise would be appreciated. Oh did not take it in in May as we were out of town and by the time we got back, check engine light went off and car was running fine. Apart from these three pretty scary incidents, car runs absolutely great?

Code P2135 is the Throttle Position Sensor - the dealer should have replaced that part.
