| I have loved my 2003 SE AWD since the day i got it. Sure i've had the usual problems (CD Player,Fuel Door, Locking myself out) but i have been extremely satisfied. My Murano had just passed 88,888 miles when i stopped for gas. I went to get back in the car and the Chrome trim ring around the drivers door lock cylinder fell to the ground. The lock cylinder appeared to be hanging by a thread. It was dark out and i am leaving for Vegas tomorrow, so i haven't had time to investigate further, but has anyone else had this issue. I never use the key to open the door - did someone try to break into my car - its garaged at night but you never know. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks - :confused: |

| Hi.. I have also experience this scenario 2 days ago.. have you been able to fix it? is it something behind the door panels that you had to adjust.?? or did you take it to the dealer? I have an 04 with 42K.. and they told me I'm out of warranty.. Please reply. thanks. |

I haven't fixed it properly, no. I am thinking of putting the trim ring back on with expoy and calling it good. I never use the key anyways, who does anymore.

| Oh, oh, oh, I know this one! Open your driver door, look at a black plastic plug on the door jam at the same level as the cylinder (on painted part of the door). Pop that plug off with a flat screwdriver and you'll expose a 5 star (torque) screw. Tighten that baby up and you're good to go! I found this out just before I was ready to tear the entire inside door panel off. I realized that the lock cylinder would still not be accessible even with the panel off. I was sitting on the driveway cursing the Nissan engineers when I saw that plug. Changed my tune pretty quickly! Hope this helps! |
