Window Problem - Click HERE for Original Thread
Glacier05
Hello all, this is my first post but I have been following the forum for a few weeks now. I did some searching on my problem, but found no similar threads. I have an 05 SL with the intelligent key system (don't know if that has anything to do with this problem)

Basically, at any given moment the 2 front windows just go all the way down. This has happened to me 4 times already, twice while i was at work, one of those times during heavy rain. (keep in mind i've had this car for 4 weeks now)

Is there an auto-window down/up feature on the key that I don't know about that may be malfunctioning?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Welcome to the forum!

Yours is a common problem with many new MO owners. Several threads have been devoted to this topic.

Where do you keep your keyfob? In the back pocket of your pants? At the bottom of a pocketbook?

It is very likely that you inadvertently pressed the UNLOCK button and kept it pressed for several seconds. It you do that the front windows will roll down.

yes i keep it in my pocket most of the time. But last night for example, it had been sitting on my desk the entire time and this morning both windows were down. Do you think this is some type of malfunction?

Where's the other keyfob?

The spare is in one of the kitchen cabinets. I caught your drift to see if maybe was something against it, but there isn't and the battery in the key is dead. It only allow me to unlock/lock the car via intelligent buttons and start the car.

Also I just tried the auto window down feature and it worked with the normal FOB...is there an auto up?

No, there is no auto-up feature on the keyfob.

Maybe you are having a problem with the keyfob itself. I suggest taking the battery out of the main keyfob to disable it, then insert a fresh battery in the back-up keyfob and use it as your primary. If the problem stops then you know it was the keyfob. If the problem continues then it may be you or the car.

I'll give that a try. Thanks for your help!
