My 03 MO suddenly started vibration at idle, the engine is getting loud as well. There is no clicking sound coming from engine compartment. When I turned off the A/C, it was getting a little better. Acceleration is also getting loud... however MPG seems not to be impacted...
Anybody has experienced the same problem? As I always did, I want to ask people on this forum first before sending it to the dealership..
UPDATE:
Just back from the Greg's Japanese Auto and the problem is fixed! The MO is running quitely and smoothly again! Those guys at Greg's rocks!
Lifted vehicle for inspection to find the air scoop for the transmission bent and gammed on to the transmission pan causing vibration. Straightened the transmission air scoop to elimate the vibration...

Note: the people who designed that air scoop must be killed! It's the dumbest auto part I've ever seen! It's cost me 300+$$ already since we bought the car... |

Having both the loud from a bad fuel damper and the bad engine mount, I concur with Eric.

I don't have the engine noise issue but I have a vibration issue at idle. The passenger side electric motor mount is gone. Going to get it replaced soon.
Caution to everyone: Don't unplug the electronic motor mount and then start the car. You'll throw the SLIP, VDC OFF, and ABS light. It can't be reset by unplugging the battery. I made this mistake the other night and it freaked me out. But...after plugging it in, and driving around for over a minute at over 30MPH, the lights turned themselves off. |

electric motor mounts? oh wow..... that sounds so cool.... when you say motor mounts i just think of this big piece of rubber and steel that doesnt move.....
then again its another electronic thing waiting to go nuts and die... |
