indicator lights at shifter? - Click HERE for Original Thread

Does anyone have any issues with the indicator lights at the shift knob not illuminating the letters enough? I have to turn the dash lights all the way up to get the letters barely visable?

How bright are yours?

I am bright! Never noticed any illumination on the shifter console ('03). I rely on the dash display.

I agree -- it's a problem. The real issue is that the instrument panel is too bright, so it needs to be turned down. And, when that happens the lights on the transmission console become non-existent. I asked Nissan to put lower wattage lights in the instrument panel so the radio/heater/ac and shifter could be brighter. No luck. They say there are no lower wattage bulbs. I'm sure there is a fix but I haven't had time to explore it.

I agree... instrument panel too bright and shifter indicator too dim. Did you notice the light that illuminates just underneather the radio to light up the tray... pretty neat but I have to keep the dash so dim that this light is too dim to be useful.

We need a fix to dim down the dash instrument lights a bit. Perhaps 20%?
