Tire pressure -- a new find! - Click HERE for Original Thread

I had my oil changed recently and the mechanic increased the tire pressure in my M-o to 40 lbs. When I discovered it I was PO'd. But, I've found that I like the pressure higher. No more 33 lbs. It rides slightly harder, barely noticable, but there are other advantages. For some reason it rides smoother over expansion joints and rough surfaces, which were always a problem before. The steering is a little lighter, which I like because I think the M-o's steering is too heavy. And, my gas mileage is better. On the interstate the ride is great.

A few negative aspects of higher than recomended tire pressure are increased tire wear in the centre tread and a loss of traction in emergency situations; panic breaking/quick turns, particularly on wet pavement....probably not noticeable... but keep in mind..

Valid concerns by Senza, there is no free lunch !

Personally I keep 33 psi at rear and 35 at front. It works well for me.
