Remember that ThinkPad I told you about. Well I ended up reformating it. Everything reinstalled fine except for the DVD Decoder. It looks like the software installed ok but haven't been able to get a movie to play on the ThinkPad.
Do you know of a DVD Decoder I could download for free so that I can play the DVDs on the ThinkPad?

Or go back to IBM and tell them you want the CD. I've done this with other manufacturers, (HP and Compaq before they were HP) and they've provided the disc.
I don't know for sure if IBM does it, because my wife considers them to be the evil empire, being an HP employee. So nothing that says IBM on it, exists in this house, unless it's a hard disk. (The funny part is my brother's an IBM dealer.) |

Media Player 9 has all of the codec's built in.....
Yeah, jaak, I worked for IBM's largest competitor in the mainframe biz for almost 20 years so I have the same nasty taste in my mouth as your wife. hehe
We called those laptops "stink pads".
I have had the distinct displeasure of reloading one here at work....after I was through I burned a CD with all of the drivers I had to prize out of the internet......in case this user decided to kill her machine with another nasty virus. She didn't have the OEM CD as well...

Didn't mean to sound nasty bout ur laptop--was just reflecting what jaak had said bout his wify's feelins.
:)
Media Player 9 is free from the microsoft website, just remember to set the config not to license and not to get album art or info. Burns CDs very well and has a tag editor. It plays almost any format.
Good luck!
