Just think about having your oil changed and driving home while your car is bursting into flames around you. Some 2003/2004 Honda CRV owners have had this happen immediately after their first oil change. Read the story, it's pretty scary:

I have noticed that the oil filter has been located in the damdest locations for the past 10 years. Even the Mo's is over suspension components. I would think that merely placing a redirecting block on the original filter location and routing hoses to a more convenient/protected/accessable location wouldn't be that hard to justify with costs from the factory. I did that with a VW I had and also a Camaro. Amsoil does this as well.
Maybe Honda should think about that.

| They do make filter relocation kits - I'm sure they are available for about anything. If it isn't available for the CRV - maybe the should look in to it. |
