A brief synopsis of Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs) for the Z50 (Murano) are available on the Nissan Technical Information website. The TSBs encapsulate Nissans known problems and solutions. Dealers are supposed to get these but I have found that sometimes they don't keep up to date.
In addition to free brief synopses, you can also create an account (you don't have to be a dealer), purchase an on-line subscription ($20 for 24 hours) and download the full versions. |

Does anybody have the TSB number for the rocking driver chair? I am bringing my MO in Monday for 15 service and window rattle...
Thanks |

Above some of TSB's from Nissan Publications.
If Admin lets me use more than 102 K in this thread, I will post all of the
TSB's that have bigger sizes.
Moreover, I created a PDF file from 04 Service Manual. It would be nice to have 129Mb of space to post it here.
I'm out.
Happy New Year!
Stay healthy, the rest we'll buy:) |

| Appreciate the posts. Still don't see the one on the driver seat movement. Can't find it anywhere myself even though I have reference numbers to it. |

How brave one should be to bring a TSB to a dealer and tell him/her what to do?
Just came back from my service guy,I was doing SECOND wheel alignment, in full and total frustration. I wanted to show him a TSB for '03 Murano steering wheel problem, however I couldn't even open my mouth.
So after two attempts my steering wheel is still off center.
I was so p***ed off, so I even forgot to ask him to work on my driver's seat.
Should I address this issue again? or just live with that? |

Thanks for the TSB posts ra3boy!! :7:
Um, do you have a .pdf file of NTB03-090 (window rattles when cracked opened) also? All my windows does that. My dealer told me a couple weeks back that they couldn't find the TSB. :bsflag: |

by doing this, in a way we show that we care for pur car/safety and we are a well informed customer.
Of course, the way you present it to them matters. If one being cocky and act like knowing eveything, then i think, the service manager will raise his/her eyebrows.
Even Nissan mentioned in their technical-site that TSBs will not always available immediately to the dealer(s). So sometimes dealers really dont have the tsb for true.
Being said that, I just brought the Mo for first maintenance interval my my local dealer. I gave them 3 TSBs:
- shift position indicator, for them to check. This is NIssan recall. NP
- Bad AM/FM receptions, fix!
- Sunvisor rattles, will be fixed next week, clips need to be ordered
All free of charge |

Well, your dealer wasn't lying, there aren't any TSB's regarding window rattle available on http://nissan-techinfo.com yet. At least there weren't any as of 01/05/2004. |

I got this link from another thread yesterday. This probably just got posted recently. Some other member posted a blurry fax copy of it a couple of months back. I thought if a member can get hold of one, the dealer should be able to get it if they look hard enough, don't you think?
Anyway, since this is now offcially posted, I think they should be able to fine it in their database. |

| I haven't had any problems with pdf's in a long time. But used to. Not sure what I did to fix it, uninstalling and reinstalling Acrobat was the last thing I did. |

| I have this syptom (brake judder when braking from highway speeds). MY car has done this since it had 15,000 miles on it. I am now pushing 26,000 miles. Will the dealer still address this? |
|
|
| wmole |
I told my dealer about my braking issues (judder felt in the pedal and stering wheel when braking from high speeds) and asked to have this addressed under the service bulletin. When my dealer told me "there is no service bulletin for that" I made the appointment anyway and brought the TSB with me. Instead of, "oh, I didn't realize this was issued - I am sorry, we'll take care of this," he says to me "who the heck gave THIS to you?!" He also made several other comments, like "dealers shouldn't give this stuff away", etc. He also showed the document other employees in the area, "hey look what you can get on the INTERNET?!"
Anyway, happily, they took care of it under the TSB and it didn't cost me a dime. Thanks a million! |

no dealer can hide any TSB from us. When nissan knows, we (ppl in this forum) knows...
We are informed customer, because we spent more than 30K for our toy :D IF we had spent any less than 10K , then he (your service manager) can BS as much as he wanted ....
Just my concern on nissan dealer's attitude on service bulletin.
I slapped 4 TSBs to my service manager, and he WAS surprised.
Without doing this, they will NOT fix my sunvisor rattles, bad radio receptions, streering recalll check and transmission position indicator recall check.
ALSO, I just filled up my QC review on my dealer' service and i wrote a page lenght of why nissan should follow most european cars' dealer: .." call affected MO owner curteously and scheduled apointment pro-actively to fix their car eveytime a TSB is released..."
Instead, Nissan dealers 'hide' their TSB....My gosh~:3: |

| on the tsb about the window rattles. my window doesn't have a tick noise, but when the two rear windows are 1/4 way down, with the front windows being up, the car rattles. And when the windows are 1/2 way down, the entire rear end rattles back and forth like being on a roller coaster. Is this the rattle everyone is talking about, or is it different? |
|
|
| Kevin150 |
| Do you have the rear cargo cover? Mine used to rattle pretty bad in the hatch area until I remover the shade. |
|
|
| Kevin150 |
| p.s. You will know when you develop the "tick" from the window. At first you will think you can live with it. Then it will consume you and you will spend your days off with the door panels off and at your Nissan dealer. |

| whitemo |
| I don't have a cargo cover, and fortunately, no tick noise. And I refuse to hear it. La La La La La La La La. |

Here is another link for TSB's. It looks like a really good one and has more documents online than the NTSB one. They seem to be better quality scans, too.

Does anyone know if they will apply a 2003 TSB to an 04 Murano. The TSB states vehicles built before 12/13/02 but I have had this exact same issue and came across the TSB for it this morning while looking at 03 TSB's. Has anyone else had the metallic clunk/knock noise while driving over large Bumps/Rough Surfaces?
Here is the TSB for 03 Model year:

Short answer is yes. I think TBS serves two functions: 1-To point out a problem 2- To lay down a known fix for the problem.
If your car is having a problem during the warranty period, the dealer will have to fix it, regrdless of the existance of a TSB, as not all problems have a TSB associated with them anyway. If they are smart however, they will use the existing 2003 TSB to guide them to the solution for 2004. |

| Dealer refused to do TSB for door rattle on my 04,They said that the TSB was for Muranos built before mine. They did add a little felt tape to door panel but nothing like in the TSB, rattle is still there and a little worse. They told me rattles were only covered for 12,000 miles or 12 months. Adjustment Warranty they called it |
|

| zebelkhan |
| I personally would not care if it takes an adjustment or a part replacement to take care of a problem when I have a 36,000 miles bumper to bumper warranty. Don't give up. Call other dealers in the area or find out who the regional manager is and talk to him/her. A call to Nissan's 800 number may also get some help. Just say that you have always had the rattles but no time to have it fixed before. |

| Thanks, I will set up an appointment and print out the TSB. I had the Mo in last week for 7500 mile maint, and asked that they fix the door rattle. They list a part number that they put on to fix door rattle but have not seen(or heard) any improvement. When I make appointment for thumping noise coming from rear suspension, I am going to request that service manager ride along and hear for himself. |

Does anyone know if these are covered regardless of the warranty status? Meaning if we are beyond our standard manufacture warranty, will they fix it gratus? Or is this just fixes for common complaints that are only covered under warranty?
Thanks.
Scott. |

| I think once you are out of warranty the only thing they will fix for free are safety recalls. Otherwise I believe then under warranty any of these items should be repaired at no charge. |

| Brake and battery lights came on this weekend, today the vehicle lost power driving through an intersection, then died completely about 10 minutes later. I noticed that the CVT seemed to fail while the engine continued to run and even revved but once put back in gear the car decelerated immediately. I was quite upset that I had the entire family in the car and we were almost left stuck in the middle of the road, literally, with this troublesome POS. I've had it with the Nissan brand, the dealer, and their abysmal corporate attitude of 'we can't help you but thanks for calling'. Glad to know I found the cause of the earlier Check Engine lights though; after two bouts with the dealer, two oil changes(service calls), and more than three weeks driving with a growling engine, I notice there is no oil in the damn thing! They were replacing injectors and sensors but not the oil sensor and they simply pulled the plugs during the oil changes and never noticed there wasn't enough in it! This last time I had it running at highway speeds for nearly two weeks waiting for the parts at the dealer when I pulled the dipstick and there was no oil on it at all. Added two quarts and the Check Engine light went off and the growling stopped. Glad it's a lease...any more of this nonsense and it goes back...and I'm definitely not buying this at lease-end. |
