steering question - Click HERE for Original Thread

Well, after doing a lot of research, reading this forum, (and my wife saying the Mo is the only SUV she would want), I just picked up an sl touring for 30.3K new. A great deal. I have one question - first, after two days, my steering wheel is off line. I have to steer to the right to stay straight. Is this related to the steering tsb (have the correct amount of torque to the bolts) or something else?
Thanks. . .

Well it could be related.
the problem was that the bolts weren't Torqued enough and every now and then the thing would get in a bind and go clunk and change it's relative position.
This of course changed the alignment of the steering wheel.

Anyway, the fix was to torque the bolts to factory specs AFTER the tech had made sure the front end was aligned and the steering wheel was straight.

They blew mine and I got a chance to put my Murano back in the shop to have the rack loosened, the wheel straightened, and the rack tightened again. Grrrrr.

I would bet that your steering rack is loose.
