Accidentally ran over my wind deflector. Anyone have one they would like to sell?

Um..... okaaaaaaaay....... what were you doing? Driving upside down???? :20:

Well, it was almost that stupid. I took it off since I didn't like it because between that and my moonroof not opening all the way, the small opening I could actually look out of started to be annoying (moonroof opening issues are being addressed in another thread but are as yet unresolved with Nissan). Then, after driving for a while with it off, I realized that it was pretty noisy, so I wanted to put it back on. I set it on my hood, got distracted, and because of the angle of the hood, reflections, etc., I forgot it was there and drove off. It blew off and somehow landed where my back tires ran over it. I feel like a complete idiot.

Wow, now I'm happy I didn't get the sun roof, as it's saved me the embarassment of doing that.

Well OK, not really, I'd rather buy two deflectors and have one.... I miss the sun roof! Sorry to hear about the OOPS! ( I bet it was closer to "Oh, something else....")

DoItFun,
In case you are still looking, do a search on eBay... 'murano wind deflector' will normally bring up a couple of different sellers. I just bought mine tonight from big_wallace...

Not too bad. Only $35 and then $12 for s/h. My dealer has been out of stock for forever, so decided to go this route.

These are the ones that latch on (not just sticky tape).

I've been thinking about getting one. Those of you that have them are they worth it? Also the way they have those metal brackets holding it on does it create any kind of gap where high pressure from the car wash can push water thru it? Just wondering before I buy one. DoitFun, If I find one cheaper than ebay I'll let you know.

well how about this one.

it is on for 35$ plus 12$ s/h.

but it uses a 3M adhesive tape. now those of you who have these installed, is that a safe thing to do with our lovely MOs ?

would it tear apart with the car washes ?
would it cause any physical damage to the MO like chipping on roof or something....

I have used them with all my past sunroofs. They help with the wind noise especially when opening the roof slightly. The side clips are actually very thin and do not interfere at all with the sunroof opening or seating. The only drawback as mentioned is that the vent does decrease the already narrow opening do to the roof not sliding back all the way.

For what it's worth, I had a 95 Maxima GLE that didn't come with the sunroof so I had one added aftermarket. It always functioned perfectly but none of the standard sunroof wind deflectors would fit it since it was bigger than the standard sunroof.

I finally found one of the stick on variety deflectors with the 3-ma tape. It lasted until I went through the first car wash and I watched it get grabbed and thrown off the front of the car.

Bolt ons are the only way to go in my opinion and buying the Nissan one once is a lot cheaper than the stick on ones more than once.

My wife had a stick on one on her last vehicle that lasted the 3 years that we leased it and I believe the people that own it now still have it on there. I'll probably go with the Nissan one though which has the brackets.

I've never known of water coming in due to the brackets. I suppose that any that gets in is going out through the drainage system.

But, it must leak just a bit in my case, since I have noticed any time the car is wet from rain or dew there is a kind of gurgling noise from air rushing out at the right side of the sunroof. I've checked, and the bracket on that side has caused a small indentation in the gasket (the left side is fine). I just close the cover those times so I don't hear it.

Someday, I'll see if it can be adjusted any, or remember to show the dealer and see about getting the gasket replaced. Since it hasn't really caused a problem, I don't worry about it too much.
