Would adding an amp void warranty - Click HERE for Original Thread

Hi All,
I'm planning on installing a JL 300/4 amp, a single JL 12w3d2 sub, and a pair of MB Quart RCE216s up front, and was wondering if I could have any warranty issues down the road. I'll be using the PAC-Audio interface, and power directly from the battery. What do you think?
My alternator is still stock (14,000 miles), so I'm concerned that if it goes, the dealer would have an excuse to void the warranty.
Thanks in advance,
Glenn

I know this is a little late.... but a capacitor can drastically help take the load off your alternator.

The alternator in the Mo should have enough spare current to drive a single JL 300/4 under nominal listening conditions, but if you really crank it, you might start to see the lights dim a bit. A cap is a fairly inexpensive safeguard to both your Mo's electrical system and your amplifier.

Thanks for the info. So far, no dimming of the lights. When I add a second amp, I'll take your advice.
