Hi,
Might sound as a feature , but has anyone noticed that driver's side head light beam falls shorter than passenger side ? Kind of seems that one of the lights has not been adjusted properly. Is there a simple fix for it or do I need to take it to dealer.

The left headlight has always been adjusted lower
than the right, so as not to offend oncoming traffic. |

FYI- I believe there are adjustments screws near the headlight housing. IIRC, one of the FX members took a picture of his and I believe a Murano owner verified this.
I'll take a look at this when I get home.
Everyone else's seems to be lower on the driver's side but I think mine is higher. |

Yes, they are white plastic with a hexagonal head, so
that a common bladed screwdriver or a socket can be
used to turn them.
They are located on the rear of the headlight assemblies,
and are quite easy to turn. The right one is a little ob-
stucted by the windshield washer fluid tank. I found it
easier to use a 1/4" socket set with a universal type
coupling so as to allow some flex.
Remember, turn clockwise to raise headlights. |

| I find my headlights to be too low even with the leveling in place, will that allow me raise it more than the leveling knob on the inside of the MO? |

Yes it will.
What I did was to set the dash thumbwheel so that
the headlights are at their highest. Then, I adjusted
each headlight utilizing the under the hood adjusters,
so that the beams showing on a wall (with the MO about
6 to 8 feet from the wall) were raised about 2 more inches.
I then took the MO out on the road to see what the effect
was.They were perfectly set, and yet I did not seem to
offend oncoming drivers.
In my case, I had to turn both set screws 2 full turns
clockwise. Also, by previously setting the dash thumb-
wheel it is possible to conveniently lower the headlights
if you do happen to offend oncoming traffic with your
newly raised headlights.

Hey guys,
Just to point out... At night, park your car facing a wall about 15 ft. away. Turn your headlights on. Note the pattern it makes on the wall... something like this ____------ . Now take a dark towel (or your body) and cover the driver side headlight. You will notice that the pattern on the wall does not change.
It seems that the top-left side of the bulb housing is blocked on both driver and passenger side headlights. This, in fact, is part of the shutter that is raised when you switch to use your highbeam. I can can only speak for MO's with HID's though. Hope this sheds some light on the subject at hand.

| Mojo is right, my S and MO both have HID reflectors shaped to create that stepoff in the beam pattern. It must be to prevent blinding oncoming traffic. |
