Warming up on cold mornings - Click HERE for Original Thread

Wanted to know what others did to warm up the engine/tranny on sub zero mornings.

I'm using Mobil1 5w/30 year round, so I generally let it idle about 30 seconds before heading down the road. I'm not worried about the enigine with the synthetic, but I want to make sure oil gets moving in the CVT.

Is this enough idle time? Do others do more or less?

Your method sounds fine to me. The CVT oil does not warm up unless the torque converter is engaged - in a drive gear. Idling in park will not warm up the CVT fluid. Best way to warm it up is just to drive the vehicle.

30 seconds to a maximum of 2 minutes with a temperature range of -10C to -35C. THe Mobil1 is great for sub zero temps.
