Wanted to know what others did to warm up the engine/tranny on sub zero mornings.
I'm using Mobil1 5w/30 year round, so I generally let it idle about 30 seconds before heading down the road. I'm not worried about the enigine with the synthetic, but I want to make sure oil gets moving in the CVT.
Is this enough idle time? Do others do more or less? |

| Your method sounds fine to me. The CVT oil does not warm up unless the torque converter is engaged - in a drive gear. Idling in park will not warm up the CVT fluid. Best way to warm it up is just to drive the vehicle. |

| 30 seconds to a maximum of 2 minutes with a temperature range of -10C to -35C. THe Mobil1 is great for sub zero temps. |
