Headlight alignment - Click HERE for Original Thread

Is the driver's side headlight supposed to aim a bit lower than the other side? These HID lights are new to me, so I don't know if there's a reason or if I just need an adjustment.
GripperDon
Correct! Everything is fine, it's to protect the oncoming drivers eyes, Another way to say it is the edge of the road is illuminated further to pick up bikes and walkers.

Thanks. I thought I had read something like that before, but I did a search and couldn't find it. You're always quick to help.
Halo
If projected on a wall, The beam pattern is supposed to look like this:

Some wrongly conclude that their lights are poorly adjusted and point their left headlamp higher. As Grip says, that dark area is supposed to keep oncoming traffic from being blinded. I haven't checked on the MO, but on my S if I cover one headlight the pattern from the other one STILL looks like what I drew above.... even more evidence that it is intentional.
