So after the last "blizzard" that hit NE this weekend my Murano shows a noticable rattle in the steering wheel and front of the car. During the weekend I did not notice it because I was driving 20-30 mph, but today while going to work it happened. I was able to pinpoint that rattle happens at about 45-50 mph driving on a snow-free road. I can actually see how the wheel shakes. I let go off the wheel while this happened and the car stayed straight, did not go left or right. So is this wheel alignment?
I did notice (since I parked in the snow) that I had a lot black snow stuck under the car and in the rims. Could it be that balancling is screwed up because of extra weight in the tires? Any thought?

I can thank NY Dept of Sanitation for burring my car in the snow, and reminding me to park on the LEFT side of the street during the snow storms :)

| This rattle or wobble in the steering wheel is caused by balancing. It could be that you have ice chunks stuck in your wheels or knocked a wheel weight off. It is not alignment unless the car pulls to one side or the other when you let go of the wheel. |

Sounds like what the folks in the south call Mud Shakes, It's a loss of wheel balance dut to either;
!1 Ice clumps on the wheel that upset the tire blance.
2. A wheel weight get stripped off from the snow and Ice.
Speed is just about right. |

So I guess when snow melts everything is going to be OK? Or should I try to remove snow from tires as soon as possible?
