| So, who are you going to cheer for the superbowl? I, personally, am not a fan of both teams (I'm a Packers fan), but since the Patriots are from my home state, I guess I cheer for them. I'm actually more excited about the commercials and the half time show :D rather than the game. |

GO PATS!
Not only because I'm a NE native, but because I have money on them! :)
I think the commercials have really gone downhill in the past couple years. |

I am going to try my best to stay off the roads the week before and after the event.
It is being hosted less than an hour's drive from my home, and the spill over will also affect my community.
We face this also for the Georgia-Florida game which also brings a national crowd down to the deep south.
We are still getting over the 2004 G-8 Summit locally; which was a real event to remember for scanner fans. |

I was about to say "sorry, I'm from Philly", but we are through apologizing down here, lol. After 3 failed NFC championship attempts and no Super Bowl win since 1960, the fans here are ready and pumped up.
Personally, I am happy that they made it this far. Unfortunately, I don't think they'll get past the Pats on Sunday, but I hope that at the least it's an exciting game and not a blowout.
FLY EAGLES FLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Not cheering for either, just hoping for a good game.
But I think the Patriots will win. They're looking too good throughout the playoffs to not win. I'm not sure TO will be a big factor, I can't imagine him being 100%. |

Elliotgb.....I spent several years working in Philly in the late 80's before returning to MA where I grew up. Those were the Buddy Ryan years for the Eagles. I know first hand how rabid and crazy Eagles fans are about their team. I was happy that they have finally made it back to the Super Bowl, as I still have friends there.
BUT.....my allegiance must return to the team I've followed since childhood. After years of putting up with owners like Billy Sullivan and Victor Kiam and coaches that were nuts (literally and figuratively), I still can't believe the run the Patriots have had over the last few years. This is NOT the team I remember from my youth. I'm just not sure if this is reward for past years, or if there will be a price to pay in the future. Either way, I'm just going to enjoy it while it lasts....because it can't last forever.
GO PATRIOTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Yeah, has anyone seen Friday Night Lights? (If not your really should) If you have than you will understand that we should now start calling TO Boobie Miles. He had better be careful. Anyways, I agree that he will have minor impact on the game. I personnaly am a little worried for Seymore of the Patriots going in before he is ready. GO PATS! |

| Halo |
I'll tell you who I'm NOT cheering for, and that's FOX. Thanks to their lame business practices (not being able to reach an agreement with Comcast), this is the first superbowl in 3 years I won't be able to watch in HD.
On another note, FOX won't air this Bud commercial on the off chance it is offensive:

It's my understanding that Fox is broadcasting the Superbowl (and also the pre-show events) in HD. Fox HD broadcasts are in 720p.
If your local Fox affiliate does not broadcast HD terrestrially, then the cable company (Comcast or whomever) can not take a national HD feed and pump it into a non-HD local market.
If you are currently getting Fox HD programming (most of their primetime, much of the NFL season, American Idol, etc...), then you should get the Superbowl in HD as well.
At least, that's what I've been told by a local Television PE.
If your cable company is in a dispute with the local affiliate over upcharges for passing HD over the cable, then you currently aren't getting Fox HD, nor will you be getting the SB in HD. ie: Comcast and the Baltimore affiliate. :-( That's a sad story....
Here in Philly, we couldn't get CBS HD over Comcast for quite a bit. Finally, they reached an agreement. |

| Halo |
rbsmo04 is all over this like I am.
My local Comcast does not carry FOX's HD stream because of financial disputes. Therefore, they will not be carrying the SB in HD. Last two years have been on networks that have had HD feeds in Comcast since day 1. |

That budweiser commercial is great!!
There is some small website that is taking a serious stab at last years halftime show... godaddy.com or something like that... should be interesting! |

Superbowl in one word: Yawn.
Game: Yawn
Brady: Yawn
TO: Yawn
Commercials: Yawn
Half time show: Yawn
Pass the Geritol, the superbowl has finally been diluted to the lowest common denominator of complete boredom. On another note, superbowl sunday is a great time to go riding/skiing as the slopes are usually uncrowded. |

| I didn't think it was that bad! It stayed close and had exciting moments. I would much rather watch a close game than a blowout. The half time show could have been better but I guess alot of people don't like breast as well as I do:D All in all I enjoyed it. |

I thought the game was pretty good with some entertaining plays both offensively and defensively. I question Philly's clock management on their final scoring drive however. There was no sense of urgency as they huddled while the clock ticked away.
They didn't look like a team down 2 scores and it's tough relying on an onside kick to stay in the game. |

| I agree! The Eagles didn't act like they ever hurd of a hurry-up offense. As I stated in my post before the game I was rooting for NE so the Eagles inexperience paid off for them. I also didn't know anything about the swimsuit model's on Spike. Wish I did. |

Well, I bleed Eagles green and last night we were all bleeding green and crying big green crocodile tears.
I don't see it so much that the Eagles played that poorly. I just think they were definitely outcoached, especially in the second half and they didn't respond with the urgency that they needed to. I am 51, so I hope to see a Super Bowl win in the next 35 to 40 years before I go to the happy hunting ground, lol. |
