| I am also waiting for chrome Nissan wheels that were ordered on 6/30/03. I have seen them on some Mo's in the showrooms and they really look great. Apparently, they are not yet available throught their parts depts. It seems they are having the same delivery problems as with other MO accessories (trailer hitch, etc.) |

| I saw them on a blue M - looked killer. |

| I installed 20X9" MKW MK9's with 295/45R-20 Falken Ziex S/TZ-04 tires. The only tire I could find in this size that was advertised as "smooth quiet ride". They are smooth and quiet. Just the wheels are a little too "Escalade" looking for my preference. I will change them eventually with something less flashy I am sure. There is just not much out there in 20" that has the right off-set for the Murano. |

matt - I like them from afar!
I'm sure they'll go pretty fast on the classified board but you'll probably take a hit on them.:( |

I bought a Black SL with the 18 inch chrome rims and it matches the whole chrome/brushed aluminum theme of the car. I also installed the APC racing pedals and rear bumper guard on it, and they are pretty good investments. I was going to buy the chrome step bumper that attaches to the hidden hitch in the back, but it covers both of the exhaust pipes, and I decided against it. Here's some pictures of my truck, I hope you like it.

Corresponded with JOE (Message #1) and his wheels came in on friday. He will be having them put on next week.
Encouraging.

| I'm still waiting for my Nissan chrome wheels on order since 6/30. As of today, still no delivery date from the dealer. However, on 6/23/03, I sent an inquiry to the Nissan Consumer Affairs dept. about the unavailability of factory wheels and tow hitches. I finally received a response on 9/12 that said "the tow package and chrome wheels are both currently available". Take that for what it's worth. Meanwhile, I will keep calling my Nissan parts guy weekly. |
|

| hfelknor |
I just got off the phone with my parts guy.
He said the wheels are UNAVAILABLE with NO "release date".
I swear to god, I don't understand how japanese car companies compete.
What a micky mouse operation.
Homer
Looks like aftermarket for me. |

Had to redo..........had a pix of the wrong wheel.......
OK. I ordered my Chrome wheels.
Got a set of Ion Alloy wheels on order. They should be in on Friday.
Not very fancy. But exactly what I wanted.
Pretty much a straight wagon wheel.
FWD wheels aren't so hot are they?
If Nissan had pulled their head out of wherever they have it, I would have gladly bought from them.
Anyway these wheels cost me $275 each including shipping, plus demounting, mounting and balance, chrome stems, and Gorilla wheel locks plus tax, took the price to $1428.78 out the door from Micky Franklin who has been in business around here since 1967.
He has a weird balancing machine. It somehow computes the low point of the wheel and the high point of the tire and this allows the tire to be moved around on the wheel until those two points match.
THEN he balances the wheel.
Here's a pix of the wheel. BTW it is an 18x7.5 ION 131
I'll put up a pix of the Murano when they are installed.

| Those Ion Alloys look really nice. While I was at the Nissan Dealer tonight for an alignment, I ran into the parts guy. Now he says that my Nissan chrome wheels are scheduled to be shipped on 9/26. By the way, if you need an alignment (mine was pulling slightly to the left), your warranty only covers it up to 12 months or 12, 500 miles. I just turned 11,500 miles, so I'm glad I made it. |

Well, geeze I hope you get your wheels.
That would be just about 3 months waiting, for you.
You are much more patient than I.
I would rather have had the factory wheels.
IMO they are no better looking than the wheels I'm getting, but, you know, Nissan warranty and all that.
That's why I went to the best shop (By reputation anyway) around here for my wheels.
I would ask your dealer if they intend to keep a spare one in stock.
3 mos for one, to replace a defective wheel (Which can happen to either one of us.......) would really try your patience I think. ;)
BOL!

Has anyone been able to get their hands on the chrome Nissan wheels yet?
I'm considering doing an exhange with someone on Ebay for my current stock SL wheels for the same wheels in triple-plated chrome.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...item=2435197366
I'm wondering if these are the Nissan chrome wheels. I'm also somewhat leary about the exhange. With the cost of the exchange (plus a deposit while I change the wheels and ship the old ones back) plus paying shipping both ways, it's beginning to approach the cost of getting them from my local Nissan dealer, if they are available.
Has anyone that had them on order received them yet? |

| I ordered the chrome Nissan SL wheels as part of the vehicle purchase on 6/30. They were finally delivered to the dealer on about 9/19. I had them installed last week and they are awesome on the MO. |

| urb - can you post a pic, its a lot easier than on FA! :p |

| It's the same wheel that's pictured in fdonaghy's post of 9/30 in this thread. In fact, the Nissan chrome SL wheels are exactly like the stock wheels, with a chrome plating over the alloy of course. |

| i'd like to get some chrome wheels myself. but i have the se and i prefer the 6 spoke design to the 5 spoker (although i gotta admit, that 5 spoke nissan chrome wheel looks good). anyway, i was wondering if anyone's heard a rumor or has info on whether nissan is planning on bringing out 6 spoke chrome wheels? thanx |

Isn't the cap in the centre of the snowflake wheels (and I say that lovingly, not making fun of them!) plastic? If so, it would have to be chromed with a different process. Sort a pain in the behind for aftermarket, but could be done.
I'd like to see them in chrome....:blingblin |

Yeah I know no one has replied to this posting in over 3 years...
But just wanted to add that I ordered a set of 5 spoke (04 rims) chromed for my mo, and should have them a week from today, 5/14/06.
I like the Nissan rims already, and you know nothing looks better then chrome wheels on a black car, and I like keeping something OEM. Anyone can buy chrome wheels, but having yours dipped is just another bragging point about the car.
Getting mine done by a SO.CAL company called LA Wheels & Tires (lawheels.com)... another southern California chrome company (must be cheap labor from south of the boarder) :1:
The ones I ordered are also the exchange deal where they're taking my old rims to chrome and sell to the next guy.... cuts down on the wait time, and also let them take their time and do it right.
Price breaks down to about 106 bucks per tire, not including the shipping to and from...
Makes me wish I lived in California so I could just drive over then have them installed at there site... They're a full service shop... this is the point that sold me on this company, its not someone doing it out of their garage. That and the 4 year warranty.
=====below is some info from their site =====
4 year chrome warranty information
Chrome plating your wheels is a beautiful, durable way to upgrade the look of your vehicle. L.A. Wheel & Tire offers quality chrome plating for automotive and motorcycle wheels, serving dealers, tire stores, and private parties. We can chrome plate all OEM and aftermarket brands. We have the necessary experience to provide unparalleled chrome plating for your wheels.
Our chrome plating is done by one of the best facilities in the United States. We chrome plate high volumes of wheels, and pass the savings on to you. When shopping for chrome wheels, keep this in mind: not all chrome plating is created equal. Everyone claims that their chrome is the best. Please research the quality of the chrome you will be receiving. We specialize in chrome plating for Porsche, Ferrari, Mercedes Benz, BMW and many other high-end cars. These vehicles require the absolute best quality and craftsmanship available, which is exactly what we provide. In fact, we are so confident in the quality of our chrome plating process, that we fully back it by a 4 year warranty This warranty is unmatched by anyone else.
All aluminum wheels go through our industry leading 10 step process and are backed by industry leading 4 year chrome warranty.
1. Each wheel is engraved with our unique serial number.
2. Wheel is checked on a high speed balance machine to ensure it is straight and true.
3. Wheel is stripped of clear coat, paint and dirt.
4. Surface of the wheel is polished to remove any defects and imperfections.
5. A layer of copper is added.
6. The copper layer is buffed.
7. One more layer of copper is added to further smooth out the surface of the wheel.
8. A layer of nickel is added.
9. A layer of chromium is added for a brilliant and shiny finish.
10. Wheels are inspected for any defects.
At our discretion we may also bead blast some of the wheels to ensure a completely smooth surface prior to the plating process. This is something that other companies will not do due to the extra cost of this process.
We know you need to get your car or bike back on the road, which is why we provide quick turnaround on wheels (generally 12-14 business days). Exchange program is available on most model cars. We will ship you our chrome wheels first, and you simply return the alloy wheels back to us in the same boxes. Please contact us for more information.
We also offer the following services:
* Chrome plating of 2-piece and 3-piece wheels and wheel parts (outers, centers)
* Bent/damaged wheel repair
* Re-chroming of previously chrome plated wheels
* Re-chroming of previously chrome plated wheels that are pitting and/or corroded
* Wheel polishing (see more about this process on our custom finishes page)
* Wheel powder coating & painting (see more about this process on our custom finishes page)
* Black chrome plating (see more about this process on our custom finishes page)
* Chrome plating of plastic and metal center caps |

What is black chrome? And are you talking about getting your OEM rims black chromed? and pics? |

Got my new chromed OEM rims in the mail yesterday.
The photos that I posted ... yeah, they do look THAT good!
They look BETTER then the photos... something I missed on the photos was the lack of chrome in the lug holes... the ones I got in the mail do not have this flaw.
Photo with the flaw posted below

I'll have photos of them mounted in a day or so (maybe after the up coming weekend, sometimes life gets in the way) |
