What do you listen to in your Murano ? - Click HERE for Original Thread

When cruising through the urban jungle in this masterpiece called Murano what music do you typically listen to ?

For me Yanni's music seems to perfectly fit my driving style and Murano's driving dynamics.

Soho, saw ur massive attack--I like them as well.

I mainly listen to recorded live raves.

Astral Projection at the brotherhood beach festival in Tel Aviv.
Paul Van Dyk at Nature One 2004.
Paul Van Dyk at Amnesia in Ibiza at the Cream closing party.
Tiesto at Dutch Demension.
Gods's Kitchen parties, Gate Crasher stuff.

Live music that you can hear the energy of the crowd in is Mo music for me.

Depends entirely on my mood. :)

If I'm feeling angstful, then some good ol' fashioned heavy metal / hard rock.... [pre-1996] Metallica, Slayer, Iron Maiden...

If I'm feeling peaceful (like when it rains), then my absolute all-time favorite singer: Sarah McLachlan. Also usually throw in some Sheryl Crow, Dido, Norah Jones, etc.

If I'm in a general good mood: Joe Satriani (makes for GREAT driving music), classic rock like ZZ Top or Lynard Skynard...

When I get sick of the same old crap being repeated on the radio stations, I flip to the hip-hop channels and there's a couple artists I actually find entertaining... Eminem, Ludacris, Jay-Z, etc.

Right now, the 6 CDs living in the changer are:

Sarah McLachlan - Afterglow
Sarah McLachlan - Mirrorball
Joe Satriani - Live in San Francisco disc 2
Motogrator - Motogrator (pretty heavy stuff)
Union Underground - Union Underground
Shania Twain - Greatest Hits

Sarah is wonderful isn't she...
Joe Satriani has to be my fave guitarist---flying in a blue dream, ahhh
If the wife is with me I let her put in Shania....she sings a lot like her.

Nothing sounds better to me than classic Rolling Stones. I just bought a great bootleg on Ebay. It's called Brussels Affair. Two live discs that were recorded on the '72 European tour. They were at the top of their game. It's right up there with Get Yer Ya Ya's out.
I listen to it over and over and I never get tired of it. Some of the best rock & roll ever recorded. Ebay is the only place you can find it.
Ed Di Lorenzo
A lot of jazz: Miles Davis, Dizzie Gillespie, Chet Baker...also classic rock and prog rock: Yes, Zeppelin, the Who, and if the wife is in the MO... Whatever she wants to listen to. Mostly Ugh! Rod Steward or Celine Dion...:23:

What did you do for the visualization on the NAV screen. That will be cool.
GripperDon
When I play my MP3's off the X-Box thru the Nav Screen using XBox Media Player it's just like the Media Player on windows you have a large choice of "Visualizations" that can accompany the music, So I pick one and play music. GRIP :D

Go here to read about doing it yourself!!!

Sirius 8, 9, 22, 24, 62, 63, 80, 86

I tend to like Classical for the morning drive. Then Pop, 80's, or Techno/Dance on the way home. Sirius Disorder (24) is great for its variety.

Yeah... I'm lucky (persistent?) enough to have scored 10th row tickets for Sarah McLachlan here in Reno on April 20th, and 15th row tickets for Joe Satriani 3 days before on the 17th!

That will be a GOOD week. :)

The Miami Vice soundtracks. If Crockett had an SUV it would be a Murano, probably in Sunlit Copper. Definitely an SE.

I was just thinking how things change.

If you had asked this question a year and a half ago, some wag would have answered the question

" What do you listen to in your Murano"

with

One squeak, two rattles, and a loud TICK from the B pillar.

This is much better. :)

Sadly I can't say the same. I need the music on all the time to hide all the ticks and rattles. :)

I haven't been able to determine yet if the "fluttering tick" I'm hearing in my left ear is coming from the door or the B-pillar. There's something making noise in the dash (I know there are threads...) and something coming from the rear area when I go over a sharp bump. I was going to get ambitious yesterday and start taking the MO apart to apply fixes found in the threads, but it was too cold. Again.

I feel stupid for asking... but... huh? I missed the joke somewhere. :)

*edit* Of course, I realize it's much less funny if it has to be explained. So for all those who GET it, please... enjoy. :)

Unlike any other car I have ever owned, I have never been able to immediately find the sourses of ticks and noises in my MO. That is because sounds are easily reflected off of the interior and they appear to be coming from somewhere else. I have had ratteling noises from my dash, which were really my coffee cup ratteling in the holder, pillar noises on the left which were created by the seatbelt clip hitting the seat on the right, rattelling noises from inside my lunch bag even sometimes appear to be coming from under the steering column, etc. etc.

I don't know if this will help for you BUT

Contrary to conventional wisdom it has worked for me in find the source of interior noises.

1. Plug one ear well.

2. Cup your hand around the other ear to create a megaphone effect.

3. Rotate your head to determine the direction of the sound source.

Now I know this may look and sound silly, so do it alone and secondly keep watching traffic. I was nearly driven crazy by a "noise in my 300M and I just had to find it. I also did it having the Grippee drive, yes she did "snicker and laugh" but I get a lot of that from her and am somewhat used to it.
