My BMW 750 just went in for a simple oil change....But the general check also revealed:
1. Front driver side wheel bearing - $160
2. New rear tyres needed (did not notice myself as the wear is right down the middle) - $145
3. Leak in upper sump gasket - $650 (Engine lift required)
4. Rear driver side shock leaking - $1100 (EDC/LAD ones...)
All is excluding fitting and excluding 17.5% sales tax...
Ah the joys of driving BMW..... |

IMHO, European vehicle tend to require more maintenance ( more $$$) as they age, especially if they are 4+ yrs old.
Driving european cars are fun, but it make much more sense financially to lease one than to own one. In the end of the 4 yr-lease period, return it and get a new one. |

The worst thing is that I work for the government agency that administrates the Sales Tax....
Those electronic shocks are my love and hate...They are fantastic when they work, but just so expensive to replace....But I guess it is not bad having done 105000 miles.... |
