well, obviously the car is the second big purchase for an average person's life... so how did u decide for the big MO. what made u test it....
well for me, i had to pick up my wife from work... she wasnt done until an hour later.... and the nissan dealership was right next to her... just drove by for a big mac. and saw big mo.... couldnt resist to peek into it.....
the salesperson was good enough to show me the whole features... and then took my wife on a saturday to show her how cool the car was.... i wasnt driving her taurus since i wouldnt fit into driver's seat.... being 6'3..... and thats when i took a test drive and made my mind.... spent all my tuition for the next semester into it and got the car....
now.... in a total mess... school... work... wife... MO.....
but i like it.... |

Wanted a car, but needed 3000lbs towing capacity. Only three cars in the American market that can do this:
Volvo V70 (Type R is very nice, but wife shot this one down)
Audi Allroad (handles like a tank)
Dodge Magnum (looks like crap, very claustrophobic)
So I had to start looking at the smaller SUVs. The MO beat out the others due to price, handling, interior space/comfort, and the CVT (driving manuall trannys for all my life, I absolutely hate conventional automatics).
Now I'm just waiting for it to be delivered. Factory order is supposed to take 45-90 days. the 90 day mark is March 6. They say it will be here some time on the week of March 18. Grrrrr. :cursin: |

I enjoy driving the miata for short (30+ twisties backroads) during my daily driving. Hence i drive the miata most on daily to work.
My fiance gets to drive my murano to her workplace.
She like it because it is so smooth and tall so that she can see the road better.
For long trips, MO is the better highway cruiser. Much more comfortable than the convertible/sport cars. |

Have a neighbor, Who needed a "medium sized SUV" and asked for help doing the trade in. Got to see it a lot and drive it a little and liked it a bunch, so got one.
Besides it the best combination of Style, Features, Comfort and Quality for the money! GRIP :D |

| Well, for me the gas mileage was the deciding factor. But the ride, comfort and features won the wife over. I have 1300 miles now and the gas mileage still sucks but that's another thread. |

Went down to buy a Quest.
Had a Chrysler T&C mini and, while it was a great car, I got tired of lifting the seats in and out of the thing and Chysler (03 and 04 did not have folding seats) had missed the boat on this.
The Quest was nice, but they must have been drunk when they designed it.
An instrument like the speedometer over in the middle of the car? Nissan, what were you thinking?
Was leaving, when I spotted the Murano and the rest is history......
Some of you will probably be offended, but ...
the Murano seemed like a short Minivan (Look at that dashboard and tell me where that came from!) with great styling and lotsa power. Drop the seats and it is the perfect vacationmobile for me and the mrs.

| was the fact that it was the best bang for your buck. Fully loaded (excluding DVD entertainment) I only paid $33000 + fees for 2004. You can't buy anything else this loaded for this amount of money. I had a 99.5 Audi A4 1.8T Quattro and was happy with it until it started giving me problems. I looked into Subaru legacy sedan (2004), but wanted something more sophisticated, and Murano had it all -- thus it is sitting in my driveway, instead of Subaru :2: |

My wife saw a black MO in the grocery store parking lot. She said "you should get one". I had never even heard of a Murano before. Surfed it on the web, found this site. Shopped around, brought it home. Love it.
 Oh my, I just realized something.... My Wife was right.... |

Actually, I wanted an X3 or an FX35. The BMW salesman, however, was an arrogant SOB and there was a tranmission hump from hell in the backseat that my 9-year-old complained about bitterly.
Third-row seat in the XC90 was a turn-off; I didn't want a taxi.
The Nissan dealer and the Infiniti dealers were both extremely accomodating, the cars were clearly superior, and the technology was whiz-bang. One of the salesman at the Nissan dealer had an FX35 and he said his average was about 11mpg. That ended the FX35 lust and sealed the MO deal. |

Now, that salesman does have the kick
You said he is working for the nissan dealer right <not the infiniti dealer>?
He sure know how to sell his product(s) :2: |

| I was just bringing in my '99 maxima for a service (110,000 miles), and thought it would be fun to check out the new max, you know, kill some time. Did the test, great ride, felt like a really large car, compared to mine. I really liked the auto folding outside mirrors (don't know when I would have used them though). Just couldn't warm up to the center console in the new max. Then I tried the MO. Lots of room, plenty of power, smooth ride, what's not to like. I told the sales guy 'I could get used to this'. I drive 130 miles each day, so I spend a lot of time in the car. Started talking dollars, brought the wife in the next day to get her input, and the rest is history. I went with the sheer silver with late interior, leather, sun roof, AWD, heated seats and mirrors, bose premium sound (not impressed, changed out front speaker and tweeters to MB Quart RCE216s, added a JL Audio 12" sub in sealed box in back, and a JL Audio 300/4 amp), Sirius SAT, a valley industries hitch, roof crossbars , and a cloud rider screen. 22K miles since 6/04, and still look forward to getting in every day. |

Correction: you liked it so much you got two of them!
And now my turn to get you on your typo......Drip???? :2:
My Honda had high mileage. Needed a big car to replace it with. Tried cheaper SUV's first, especially Saturn Vue, very cheap interior plus you could get CVT only with noisy 4 cylinder engine. Decided to upgrade our price range, looked at MO, FX, RX, pilot, Highlander and a few others. Except for the front grill, MO beat all of them in every single category. So got the wife and the kid, went down to dealer and just bought one! :)
Now I even like the grill! I like my MO so much I got her vanity plates that announce it to the rest of the world. :2: |

Loved my 2000 Maxima, but needed something that could take large boxes. I could get them in the Maxima, but not the trunk. Only the back seat! (Those doors opened wide!)
So the Murano has that typical Nissan handling, looks cool, goes fast and the CVT is awesome.
I kept looking at the pictures of it, before it came out, and had no idea of how big it was. With the large wheels, I actually thought it was smaller, as in the pictures, my brain adjusted the size to normal wheels.
Then I met one in a dealer's showroom in November of 2002. Silver. I was in love. Opened it, poked and prodded, loved that it wasn't three rows of seating (No lousy, cramped bus seating) and couldn't find a thing I didn't like. The first one I drove was an SE, I expect with the 50 lbs of tire pressure, still from the factory. It was gold and I thought it was brutally rough, which made me go for the SL. Afterward I found out about the tire pressure issue, but hey, no turning back.
My next vehicle looks to be another Murano. Loaded '07 in fall of '06 is the plan... Well, unless something else captures my attention. So far, it's not happening. |

| i knew about the car even before it appeared on the dealer's parking lot in '03. I liked the idea of using a CVT in an SUV. and just recently I had to get another means of transportation so I test drove a new version of Colorado, an Equinox, a Frestyle, then a Morano and desided that it was the one :) |

| I knew that I wanted either another SUV, or a sports car, and had a hard time deciding. Then I went on a trip to Florida and happen to rent a Nissan mini van and loved the smooth ride. So when I got home I went to the Nissan dealer to see what other types of cars they had, and fell in love with the Murano. After having such a bad experience with my Olds Bravada, then having it depreciate so much, I am looking forward to fewer problems and a higher resale value. |

| Loved the styling as soon as they came out. I have always been aprehensive of first year models so I waited a couple of years, took my wife out for a test drive and the rest is history. |

Folks,
It was time for another vehicle... I drove a Mitsubishi Endeavor on vacation as a rental and it drove very smooth and quiet. So a mid size SUV became interesting to me. My wife's Lincoln MVIII was heading toward some maintenance bills - so time for a replacement. My wife ( the planned primary driver) had these criteria:
#1 - safe - lots of drive time with the kids, on the highways
#2 - fast - she was used to 280HP Lincoln and frequent highway entrances
#3- styling "Not a box"
#4- comfortable.....she dislikes our conversion van because it rides so rough to her
#3 ruled out a lot a choices. My criteria was good value for the $, good resale, and a strong driveline. The 3.5 Nissan motor has a great reputation.
The only problem is I NEVER get to drive the MO!

| Maxima becomes pretty old with a lot of miles…..I start looking for an SUV w/ a big trunk to fit my Remote Control planes without damaging them while driving to the airfield….saw Muranos on the streets…show it to my wife…..went to the couple different car dealers to look at the competitors SUVs….Toyota, Honda, Mitsubishi (yyak)…...than she said that she do not want the SUV looks like “truck”, and I agreed with her….got Mo and so far I am very happy…roomy, nice equipment and a great ride.:D |

| Had a 97 Maxima before, and wanted the Maxima or SUVs when I moved to the snowbelt. Very happy with the Murano, esp compared to Highlander and Pilot. |

Exclusive, only 1000 per year in the UK...
Value for money, will have to spend an additional GBP10000 for equivalent spec BMW...
Boot size, believe it or not but a Toureq won't hold our pushchair...
And good experience with our previous Nissan Patrol... |
