So I currently have an 04 loaded SL MO and love it, but a few weeks ago I got an offer to run an add in the local Auto Trader for $100.00 until the vehicles sells...So I decided to list my MO to see what type of interest there was...Needless to say I got a few calls and actually sold my MO....I wasn't expecting to sell it so quickly.....I wouldn't have even listed it if I did get the offer from the Auotrader....
Thursday Evening I will be driving home with a 2005 Platinum SL MO, with Touring, Technology, VDC, Mobile Entertainment System and all the other bells and whistles...I think the only thing I am not getting are the chrome wheels...I am pretty excited...I have seen pictures of the MO in Platinum, but to be honest I haven't see one in person yet...I just wanted a different color than what I have now...
Gripper: What do you think of the Platinum color? |

Congrats Milgrad.
Did ya buy it from Will again? Is he still there since they switched to Cochran?
Good Luck. |

| Congrats! You have to admit, it says a lot about a vehicle when there are repeat buys! |

| I did buy from Will again...He is actually a manager at Bowser now...I have been following him around from dealer to dealer.... |

Here's hoping he never moves to Mitsubishi.........
That's why I will not go anywhere near the dealer.
I have a good car. After it's initial break in period where it suffered multiple problems, my Murano has straightened out and is just about puuurrrrrfect.
But.......I love that Merlot......I always wished i had gotten NAV................
Good luck Milgrad!

Good luck! I've got the exact same car... Platinum fully loaded w/technology package. I still haven't tried the DVD player. It was already there or else I wouldn't have gotten it because I really would rather have the space in the center console. I suppose if you have kids or frequent passengers... oh well. Enjoy!
PS - The rear camera is awesome! |
|
|
| milgrad |
| Glad you like...I really didn't want the DVD player either, but it was the only one they could get...I could have gone with a silver one w/o the DVD, but the Platinum is such a cool color... |

| From the tone of your message milgrad, it seems that you got a pretty good deal for the Mo. I also thought about putting the Mo on auto trader to see what I could get. I absolutely love my '04 Mo SL and all it's features but I find myself spazzing out everytime I hit a curb or hear a pebble hit the car. So I thought about perhaps selling the Mo and getting something I wouldn't mind punishing/driving rough in the city. Just wanted to ask how bad did it depreciate and if you really liked the deal you got on autotrader. |

Since Platinum replaced Polished Pewter, it's interesting that Nissan carried forward the monochrome feature that used to exist on PP too.;) |

| I was very happy with Auto Trader....for $100.00 bucks I couldn't pass up the offer...running an ad in the magazine and online until the vehicle sells. I feel that I got a good deal on my Murano...ESP since I didn't trade it in...Plus on the new MO I was eligible for VPP pricing so that was easy to deal with....The dealer is also doing a courtsey trade so I still get all the tax savings...It is working out great...I am excited to get it and start some MODS on it.....It will take me a while to catch up with Gripper...... |

Now, my Mo is next for sale in the autotrader hehehehe (j/k).
I am going to keep the murano for another year.
And from there I will sell it for maybe another murano or an RX ;) |

Milgrad,
Do you mind me asking how much you got for your MO. What mileage and type of MO was it? |
|
|
| milgrad |
| My Murano was an SL with tourning/NAV/VDC....It had everything but DVD/TV.....It had 25,500 miles on it and I got 28,499 for it.....Attached is a picture of the two of them together...we had horrible weather today... |

Wow! I step out for a while and look what happens. Grip bids TTFN (ta ta for now) and milgrad gets a new MO?!?!
Coincidentally I just put my MO up for sale online using autotrader too. I got the same deal you did Milgrad. I hope that there are as many interested offers for mine as there is yours.
Sadly enough I think that the MO isn't getting traded in for another. Due to some recent events (also why I haven't been around in forever) a couple extra bucks a month will definitely help out a bit. So I've been looking around for another car. The list has been narrowed down to one of the following:
-2002 Audi A4
-2005 Mazda3 SP23 edition
-2005 Subaru Impreza
-used mustang convertible and used Jeep Cherokee or Ford Exploder
Opinions?
If I do sell the MO I will still be around on the boards. The collective knowledge of this board makes reading other car forums feel like a bedtime story. Trust me...I've been looking for others to join regarding my choices above. If you have any suggested forums for those let me know.
Thanks!
Rob :29: |

Snow MO
I traded in a 2002 Audi A4 when I purchased my MO. The Audi was a wonderful car, but the interior was just too small. We always felt cramped. But it is very solid and sure footed. Also, Audi's (basically all German cars) are VERY expensive to insure. If you seriously consider the Audi, try and try it around for a few hours and make sure you can live with the interior room.
Good luck in your decision. |

I'm curious why no Nissan/Infiniti products in there...
There's an underlying common feel to them, in their handling and that superb engine. You can leave the Murano, without missing part of it's spirit. |

SNOWMO:
Good luck with the sale of your MO. It took me a while to sell mine....It was listed for about 7 weeks....I didn't start getting calls until about the 6th week. I had to lower the price on it twice so don't get upset if you have to lower the price some...Once I started getting calls it was great...If you look at the dealers or in Auto Trader you will not see many MO's that are loaded listed....so I am sure yours will sell...Just give it time....
As far as a new car, my parents have always had Audi's...They are a great car, built well, but they do feel small inside... |

Milgrad,
Where did you get your fronts tinted? Do they match up well with the rears? Did ya get both MO's done at the same joint?
With all my other Pittsburgh pals upgrading/selling the MO's I feel like I have to do something....
I'm about tired of this winter too! (just felt like whining a bit):3: |
|
|
| milgrad |
| I got my first MO done at Auto Image Plus....They did a great job...I got my new done at Solar Control in Monroeville...Great Job as well...I do have to get one redone because of a bubble in it, but overall they do a great job and they match perfectly with the back....Either place will do a good job...It was around $70.00 to have them done.... |
|

| Did they remove your door panels when they did your tint? I know some shops do and others do not. |

| They did not remove the door panels...They did a great job...took about 30 minutes.... |

jaak,
i was laying in bed last night thinking the same thing. I've always been a huge fan of the G35C. It's my dream car, however the payments are a nightmare. Then yesterday i started thinking about the Z car. My only real concern with that (besides the snow going ability) is the fact that it is a 2 seater. Granted, I had minimal issues with the Mustang, but I could smush people in the rear if I had to. I don't want to lose the oomph feeling, which is what a lot of the above cars are lacking. I'm still quite perplexed on what I am going to do, but I would prefer to stay with a Nissan/Infiniti. If their service was better I would do nothing but rant and rave about them.
The aforementioned are all just 'practical' cars.
milgrad,
Thanks for the input. The audi seems to have most of what I am looking for, however I am very hesitant about the high repair costs and there being a previous owner. Recommend an honest salesman?
The Z car is #1 on my wish list, but I have this little guy nagging at me telling me: Remember what winter was like in the mustang? |

| Have you thought about the G35 Sedan. If I had my druthers, I'd much prefer the coupe on looks alone (Plus HP), The sedan has the VQ engine and room for four. How about the new Frontier - Probably not your type of vehicle since everything you listed is a passenger car, but it has the VQ 4.0 and 265 HP, plus with extended cab can seat 4. I have not checked pricing on the Frontier, but it is a nice looking truck. I love the Mazda 3 by the way. Great looking with some really nice options. |

I know we all like to aspire to greater vehicles, but have you looked at the high end Altimas? I still think the Altima is a hot looking car, and with the 3.5 in it, it's a little rocket (relatively speaking). Get it with the newer interior and leather and it's pretty nice and easier on the pocket.
I'd like a G35 as well, but if I was counting pennies, I'd either go for a new Altima, or keep my eye out for a used G.
Now if you want a sleeper... A supercharged Altima 3.5. You'd be kicking butt all over, but the torque steer might be a bit rough when you hammer it.
It's the same engine as all these other 3.5 litre Infiniti and Nissans...
You can even get the navigation system and Sat radio! |

random?
I'm not so sure about the altima. I'm one of those guys that if my friend has the car I can't get it, and a friend has that one already.
I'm keeping my options open. I think the list has now changed to the following:
-2005 Mazda3 SP23
-2002 Audi A4
-used Audi TT
-2005 z350 enthusiast
The Frontier is not far from my mind. I really want a stick, but the only truck I ever drove that was a manual was a 94 F150 with an inline 6. What a dog. Do you think that the Frontier would feel this way too?
Maybe I will test drive the Z and the Frontier on the same day. We'll see. I don't foresee getting a new car until the MO sells (and who knows how long that will take) but I love to look.
---------------------
The worst part about it all is that I love the Murano. However I can't help fighting the need to get a different car frequently. At 23 it keeps life interesting. My ideal moonlighting job would be to test drive cars for 6 months at a time and report back on them then move on to the next car. I love finding out every thing about a car, reading every thread on the forums and then moving on to the next when I feel its time. |
|

No need to make excuses.
That's the way it is with a car guy.
You just have to move on to the next one.
So many cars, so little time.......
That's how I piled up 40 some different cars since my first one.
You will remember the Murano.
You always remember the good ones.
And the bad ones.
The ones in between are harder to remember.
Good luck on your quest.

Interesting... I wonder what the A4's like, my 2000 Maxima with it's 3.0 litre, which was fabulous inside, took on an A4 and the A4 lost.
But I guess it depends what you're looking for! |

How's the room in that RX?
One of the things I like (love) about the MO is the leg room being 6'2" all legs.
But always wanted an RX, years ago I even had money down on the orig. RX-7 before the dealrs had'em but it was taking too long and had to bail out. |
