When should the CVT be serviced? How much is reasonable?
I just got ripped off by a dealer for a 30K service ($479 for 30K service and another $89 for in-cabin microfilter). The service doesn't include CVT maintenance and spark plug. Basically it is oil change + a list of easy tasks.
I don't think I will go back to dealer again except CVT which must be done by dealer.
Thanks,

I believe service manual says: CVT - check fluid - 30k miles, replace fluid - 60k miles.
I changed in-cabin filter myself - $50.
And yes, except oil and in-cabin filter all others are just checks. |

Egads what could they possibly do for $479?
From what I heard, the dealers are charging anywhere from $15-25/qt for CVT fluid. A complete flush takes 11 quarts. Figure $100 for the labor if they use a flush machine, and the cost of the fluid. Yikes! |

| I've had my CVT fluid changed. There is no flush machine, and you can only change 6 quarts. But it's still $30/qt, plus an hour labour. |
