I was wondering if anyone uses their cargo net? I haven't, but I went food shopping for the first time and wow... either I need to slow my driving down around turns, or I'm going to start using the cargo net. Nothing stayed put.
Any pictures out there for the best way to hook up the net ? I've personally found two different ways so far. |

| Used it one time to hold some stuff down over the cargo floor. I like the cargo organizer better. It holds plenty of grocery sacks, a toolbox, etc. |

I used the cargo net all the time for groceries to make sure things didn't get thrown all over the back of the car. But I've now gotten the cargo organizer, and I like it much better! It does a great job of holding things in place and easily folds up out of the way when not needed.

| The Cargo Protector is so slippery you have to have something there to hold your stuff. So my cargo net is always up and used all the time. |

| Does anyone have pictures (closed & open) of the cargo organizer? Prices and places of purchase? |

I would also be interested in some good pictures and a detailed description of how it works and how much you like/use it. All the pics online that I have seen have been very small or very poor quality images, and I can't tell how well it would work and if it's really worth the price. |

I never use mine because I've never figured out exactly how to get it set up. Guess I'm cargo net impaired. Pictures of a properly set up net would be great if anyone has them.
As an alternative to the net, I have my groceries bagged in plastic and then hook them on the little hooks on the back of the rear seat head rests. Kind of a pain to reach in and hook them, but keeps the groceries from scattering all over the back. |

The rear seats on my Morano have little bars on them. Did you buy hooks to hook into those little bars? How else would you have hooks? Did it come with Grocery hooks? A picture would be appreciated as groceries is my life (I know it's sad) |

I've tried to use the cargo net as a basket at the front of the trunk opening using the upper and lower loops. Unfortunately, the cords cannot stretch that far to make it happen. Luckily I kept the cargo net from my old Maxima and that has a much better reach.
It's a shame that the Mo's cago net can only be used to keep down items in the trunk and not hold them, as I mentioned above. |
|

| TheGymKid |
| I set mine up like an envelope. I just pull it open and put things inside it. It also works as a divider... you can see I have my golf clubs behind the net and can use the front side of the net for other things. Here are some pictures I took real fast a few min's ago. |
|
|
| TheGymKid |
| This is how I hooked it up.... |
|
|
| TheGymKid |
| Here I am pulling it apart and putting a bag in.. it holds it there pretty well. |
|
|
| zebelkhan |
| I have mine set-up exactly as TheGymKid has except rather than making an envelope, I have one side connected to the rings on the floor right behind the back seats so the net is sort of "L" shaped. I place the grocery bags between the net and the rear hatch, and when I have something that needs to be secured down, I slide it under the net. |
|
|
| CopperKat |
| My Murano didn't come with a net, so I had to purchase one. I bought the hammock (envelope) style for around $23 and I use it all the time. Great for groceries and any other small items. |

GymKid PM'd me about pics. This was a good thing. The cargo area was filthy, so I cleaned it up to save face. Besides I have a wedding to attend this weekend. It had to be done sooner or later. :D
There is a Cargo Organizer thread from last summer.
I also posted these to my Gallery. |

| This last picture shows detail of the spring clip to release for folding down (there are 4 of them). The 3 center nets can be unhooked at the top and laid in the bottom to make room for larger items. Also, you can see the little hold down tab for when it is folded (not that it does much). |
|

I didn't know it folded! I like that. I might get one. I've used the net and it works with lots and lots of bundles. I've loaded it very heavily. I use it as an envelope but I like the idea of the "L" too.
I leave it half way connected all the time as I remove the two hooks from the top right and leave the rest connected. I still have access to the entire hatch but when needed can quickly get the net back up. |

MO Dale ~
AWESOME! Thank you so much. I think I'm gonna have to get me one of these.
Sorry we made you clean the back of your MO! :p
That looks much nicer than any other pictures I've seen, and I like the fact that it's not in the way as much as the net if you're wanting to load something big.
(the wife's going to kill me for doing so much shopping for my car... She keeps asking "when was the last time you bought something for ME?" :D ) |

| GymKid - That's exactly how I have the net set up... but for some reason my old net from the Maxima has a little more slack on the cords. |

HEY... THANK YOU !! I appreciate you taking the time to post the pictures. Big help and in seeing the whole picture.
If you need help washing your car, I can ask to see a picture of the outside of your car.

Glad the pics have helped everyone!
Well, the outside is just dirty from rain and pollen. But the cargo area has been looking bad for awhile. I hope to finish the cleanup the next couple days.
Here's a peek if you really want to know. The picture really doesn't do it justice. It was baaaaad! :o |

Wow, this cargo organizer looks awesome. Where can I buy one???? Also, can you reach the handle to fold your rear seats without removing organizer every time?
Thanks:) |

That's the only rub...you have to move/lift it to pull the seat levers. It'd be nice if they were higher up, like in the FX. Overall, inconvenient, but not a big deal.
Any Nissan dealer can get it for you and probably save shipping.
Lee's has it for $132.00.
1st Nissan $118.80. |

LOL :D Yeah, it's not just people that follow the MO around. I got my new SilBlade's last night. I was planning to post about them. I hadn't seen them mentioned around here. |

| MO Dale, Thnks a lot for the prompt response. I look around and the cheapest one I found is on http://nissan.autowebaccessories.com $119 + $12 for s/h. I will try to order one tonight.;) |

Interesting... so you can't use the back seat handles while the cargo organizer is there. Everything just keeps adding up for the things I want for my new murano... jeez
- Cargo Organizer
- Front guard for the radiator
- My nerfs powdercoated a different color
- Stonguard
- A new front grill... but I'm waiting to see if they come out with different ones, although it's nice, I'm not crazy about the Z - grill.
THat is just my list for now too.
- By the way, I bought the Garmin 2620 and can't say that I love it. I think it might be going back to the store. : ( |

Me too--seems like I saw a picture in the manual or online at Nissan's site that shows it this way. Didn't answer the poll becuase there's no choice for my answer, which is that I keep net set up all the time except for trips when I'm carrying lots of luggage or large objects. Net is handy for everyday shopping etc. |

Now that is picky! I think you would qualify for choice #1. That is what I voted for. |

I actually need a cargo net that goes the other way to stop stuff from sliding from left to right to left to right to left to right...
Everytime I put stuff in there, it's neat, but when I get to where I'm going, it's all over the place. The Maxima had the same problem. Must be a Nissan thing.:p
Having it across the back, is almost completely useless for what's normally in there. Helps keep groceries from sliding out, when the hatch is opened, when it happens. |

Depends on if you have problems with taking the turns too fast or rather you make fast take offs and slow downs. I can take the turns slow but can not necessarily control how quickly I have to stop as there are many idiots out there, plus the stuff goes between the net and the rear hatch, just enough to fit 3 or 4 bags of groceries. So Side to side works for me. |

Mine didn't come with a net either. I DID find the plastic bag that it probably came in!!!
The quest I had did have hooks on the back seats and in the rear of the van. Very useful. I did have a net in the Rav4 I had and loved it.
Maybe when I go get my key fixed(it won't unlock the door)I'll buy me a net.:p  |

Hmmm, I bought my MO used and it had the cargo protector and the cargo net set up in it. When I got home and opened up all the little nooks and crannies in the cargo area, I found an unopened plastic bag with a second cargo net. The net stays put for the most part but I don't secure the bottom clips. I find it easier to slide larger objects under the bottom of the net without having to remove it entirely.
I really like that cargo organizer though, it's going on my 'must have' list. |

Just a suggestion, but maybe you can sell your 2nd one to pickles if you don't plan on using it. |

Hey,
Why do people keep things that should stay with the car. I'm sure it won't fit in their new car unless they bought a new MO and need two!!!
I think I like the cargo organizer better. I think I'll get one of those too. Had mine washed today. Looks GREAT, What do you know under all the yellow pollen; it turned out to be WHITE!!!
Good pictures. Thanks:4: :4: :) |

Both Nissans I've had, came with them. I'd take the bag back to the dealer and ask them where the cargo net is. If they aren't co-operating, nicely make a fuss and take it up the management chain. You paid enough to have the vehicle, what's a cargo net going to do their profit? |
|

Guess I'm one of the lucky ones. My MO came with cargo net, cargo area protector, and even the retractable cargo cover (of course, my '03 brochure said that SE's with the Popular Package get all that standard). And yes, I pulled out my original brochure just to check and see what they were offering then.
Use all of them all the time. I like the cover because you can pull it over everything so that people can't see what's in the back of the car... :D

Although I have the cargo cover, I find my "abracadabra security shield" works even better. Turbo cheap, super effecitive, plus, no rattles. I have a photo in my gallery.
My MO arrived without a net. Homer (my hero) gave me his net. I have used it a few times and it works well, I could have easily lived without it, I prefer bungees for hold downs and we buy so many groceries when we shop, there's no room for them to flop. |

Did ya click on my gallery button under my post? In the gallery it's called my 3 dollar security shield.
The photo does it no justice. When installed, your cargo (any size) disappears. So simple. I bought one for my wife's station wagon (hers was $4).
We were on a golf outing in Myrtle beach with a rented trailblazer, I bought one in the Walmart there for $6 (tourist trap), to cover all the golf clubs and crap.
With tinted windows the effect is amazing. Your hatch doesn't look like a pile covered with a black cloth. YOUR HATCH LOOKS EMPTY. |

those hooks on the rear seat head rests are not for grocerys. They are for the cargo cover to hook onto. We get a cargo cover as standard in Australia. |
