I remember seeing admins saying it was a fate worse than death here and there on the net.
We were doing a fresh install of 2003 DCs and a 2003 exch server in coexistance with an NT domain and a 5.5 exch server.
Worked great till the old exch server croaked, it had 5 blackberry accounts and several dozen problem child accounts that didn't pull over nicely. Of course the BB server needed 2003 server on it to reinstall bb ent server....got that done in a jiffy but the 2k3 server went on a herky jerky ride for 2 weeks until I could figure out the crazy DNS and SMTP routing. We have a pix between us and the net.
The exch and the BB server were DFGW through the pix. The GC's were routed through the lan gateway. I have a 7 route wan as well.
Moving 586 objects took me 3 weeks and 60 hours on top of 12 hours days, 7 days a week.
Today when the GC's FINALLY decided to play nice with the exch server, it was like a ton of lead was off my back.
You know what's ironic?
I start 2k3 exch school in 2 weeks.
Gotta love management.

| Par for the course. So much for the JIT Training they like to spout on about. Glad you got your problem fixed though. Maybe the class will be beneficial for the next time. |
