Changed my oil using the large Fram Tough Guard.
I'll be changing to a K&N soon.
I read in the owners manual the Mo takes 4 and 1/4 quarts.
I buy my Mobil 1 in the five quart jugs.
After checking and adding a few times I got right it on the full
mark. There was a lot less than 3 quarters of a quart left.Is it alright
to pour the rest in or save it for the next change?

Do not over fill.... better to under fill than over fill!

Besure to start the engine and then turn it off. Let is sit for a number of hours and then recheck it.

If it reads the same then leave it and save the extra oil for your next change. Besure to read the stick closely and carefully as with a new change it can be difficult to read. If you've added ~4 qts you are good to drive until you can check it again. Also as you drive the oil will get dirty and darken so you can check it agin.

I personally do my own changes and only fill to 3/4 up to full. Using OEM filters that is just about 4qts which includes some extra that I pour into the new filter prior to installation.

I agree with the previous post. Do not overfill. I use about 4-1/2 qts for a normal oil change.

i agree with not over filling.

here in Canada, i got the mobil 1 4.5 Litre jug and that filled the MO right to the H level.
that makes it about 4.75 Qts.
