My 2003 Murano makes a noise when starting or shutting off the engine. It is a series of "whirs", lasting about 4 seconds: whir-whir-whir-whir-whir-whir. It comes from the engine compartment, and sounds like a small electric motor or pump. It happens when I turn the key to "on" (one step before "start"). I think this started some time after the alternator was replaced, a month ago. Any ideas before I schedule another trip to the dealer?
