| After a really rough month in August, I have finally found time to post some pics of my 'new' rims. These rims were purchased on Ebay and delivered to LA Wheel and Tire in California link here for a new treatment called "Millenium Chrome' being a spray rather than dip process. The warranty is three years instead of one for regular plating and the finish is engineered to withstand really harsh road conditions if you want it to. The finish is available in Black, which I chose, so it is less 'bling' and stands out as different. It has a resemblance to gunmetal, and captures shadows in the sunlight. At writing, I am still resolving an issue with the centre caps being slightly different in shade than the rims (likely due to a different batch process), but overall they look great IMHO. My new Toyo's finish off the combination perfectly in so many ways. I know, I know.....I need to apply more tire dressing.........:2: |

| I think they look Sweet. I have a Plat. 05 and have been wishing that the rims matched the paint and that looks pretty close. |

I'm not a chrome fan... I shy away from it as I feel it is bling bling / showing off ... but yours are really really nice. I like them. Great job.

Man, that black chrome process looks great.
I'm going to seriously look into that.
Did they send you those wheels first and you sent your wheels back
in the same boxes?
I just bought some 17 inch wheels and snow tires from Discount Tire
Hankook W300's.The wheels are a brand called X.Looks like it'll be a
tight fit.Any problem with your 17's
How much did the chrome process cost?
Last question what size Toyo's did you buy and how do they compare to the goodyear LS's ? |

Hey mrleadfoot......I am really pleased with my summer and winter rim/tire combos. To answer your questions...
1. I bought a set of OEM 6 spoke on eBay and had them dropped off at LA Wheel, then shipped to me in Canada. I now have my set of OEM 5 spoke that I plan to list on eBay. They can do a wheel exchange just as easy though, whereby you ship your's back once the new ones have arrived. I was one of the firsty to get the black chrome done, and have been told I saved perhaps a couple hundred dollars as such. Contact LA Wheel for a quote, it should be around $700 now, which may or may not include the centre cap chroming. Here is a link that contains all the info you need, or links to it. http://cgi3.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.d...&userid=oemrims
2. My 17's fit perfectly fine, although they are Nissan 350X rims. There is still decent clearance around the front (larger) calipers. I suspect you should be fine.
3.Toyo Proxes S/T 255/60/18. I have about 10k on them now and absolutely love them. Check the threads on these tires for some of my comments.
Happy motoring!:2: |

I agree, they should look really sweet! I believe I paid about US$550 plus an extra $60 for the centre caps, plus one way shipping of about US$130 (because they were dropped off for me at LA Wheel). I was told the price was slightly higher now as I was one of the first so it was sort of an 'introductory' price. Be sure to post some pics when you get them installed.:2: |

| i'm doing a wheel exchange with them the price comes out to 750 for the set of 4 wheels chromed plus 100 for the center caps. plus shipping of course. do you think that's a good deal?? |

Given the quality, and compared to the cost of buying new, I would say that it is still a very good price. There is a lot of work involved in the process, and the 3 year warranty is outstanding as the finish is extremely durable. Plus, you get something entirely different, while still sticking with OEM rim size/weight. I have had countless looks, and several direct comments. |

| haha at the nissna dealership that we service the murano, our car is notorious for modifications and they just stand and gaze at it. maybe that's why it takes so long to get it back. when the wheels come in their jaws are going to drop. the only bad thing is is that these will also be our winter wheels this year but la wheel has assured us that the finish will withstand our canadian winters. and hey, there's always that 3 year warranty to add that little extra peice of mind. |

hey mo in to, next time your at canadian tire or something pick up some crappy armor all and use it to spray the inside of the wheels wells. makes the rims stand out that much more(ohh the bottle that the armor all comes in has a crappy sprayer so pick up a bottle with a good sprayer also)
can't wait for my black chromes to come in. couple more weeks. |

It's hard to describe, but as you will notice in my very first post of this thread, I had thought the same as you when the arrived. My pictures kind of show the shade variation. My center caps seem to be a little more 'copper' in colour not 'blueberry' which I assume means blueish? In talking with LA Wheel it was confirmed that the process takes to plastic different than metal, which is why they look slightly different. I accepted that and in no time got used to it. I look at it not as a fault, but rather another feature to draw your eyes in. Look forward to some pics from you :2: |

| yes they do look blue, a very dark shiney blue they also sprayed over the nissan embelm so it's all one color on the center cap. |

By any chance would you know the part number of this rim. I want to know because I'm trying to locate a certain style rim. I also like this style also. I know that it doesn't come in black chrome. Just want to know the part number. |

The rims I have now are genuine OEM Nissan Murano 6 spoke rims from an SE model year 2003-2005. You would need to check with your local Nissan dealer for an actual part number. |

Are you saying that those were for the SE version of the Murano? I have a 2006 Se murano and I want to get the 2006 version of the chrome rim. I have couple part numbers but are not sure which one there for. I supposedly have a part number for the 06 chrome rim but am in the process of verifying this. My local parts dealers has this on their computer but are no sure what they look like. Part# 999w1-cs000. |

| the cheepest way is to do like MO in TO did. find some 06 se rims on ebay and then have them directly shipped to la wheel for the black chroming process. or you can call la wheel directly and they may have some o6 SE tkae off wheels in stock. in that case you would have to pay 400 + chroming+ shipping which still isn't that bad. |

The gunmetal chrome rims look awesome! I think they would look incredible on a charcoal or black mo. One thing I noticed is that since this process is done by spraying rather than dipping, would'nt one be able to buy (if they can find it) the paint and spray their rims themselves? This would save them some money if they know what their doing! Just like some of the members who painted their grills. Just an idea, would do you guys think? |

| it's actually a powder coating process that must be done professionally. i've had the same thing done to mine and it looks great. it's just tough to get the center caps to match. |
