Distance to Empty, What do you get??? - Click HERE for Original Thread

I have owned my MO for a few weeks now and with gas prices being so high, I decided to see how long I could go with the gas light on. It came on at 40km. (Canadian version)

I noticed that the DTE reading is totally out of whack once you get low on fuel so I ignored it. I drove for another 20km and put some gas in so I could make it home.

How many kms or miles do you get after the light comes on?

When does the light come on in the US? That sounds like a deep question doesn't it? :-)

Thanks for your input.

Do a search on this... many threads. As I recall and from my experience the low fuel light comes on with about 2.5 - 3 US gallons reamaining. Others have reported poor readings with DTE as this point as well.

You are right!! I did a search for a specific phrase instead of a generic DTE, anyways, it looks like 10 litres in Canada or 3 US gallons. Using those numbers, I should be able to go about 100 kms (60 miles) before I am empty. I may try it some day to see how low I can go.

Thanks
