The Grip has to sell his Beloved MO! - Click HERE for Original Thread
GripperDon
Circumstances are making it required that I sell the most high modified MO in America, better than that probably the lowest mileage used 05, truly better than showroom, No alternator recall for this puppy it has the new one, and could be the most polished, It it no joke you could eat food off any surface in the wheel wells.

I have not set the price yet, please don't ask it will be this weekend before I do and I'll post it then. No trades. I can't do any financing, Certified Check required.

All my labor for installation of the goodies will be free, But is is not going to be either a robbery on my part or a steal on yours you can buy cheaper Mo's elsewhere just not one like this and I don't expect to do anything than take a bath on my investment that is not you fault it's my problem, I just don't have time or willingness to negotiate. I'll set what I think is fair and if anyone want it fine, if not we are all still friends and I'll put it in the paper. I think you all know me by now, If I say it's perfect it is, Not a ding, scratch etc. Also I am not one to ever argue about price it is what it will be. Now that those preambles are out of the way I never have to mention it again.

You can look at my chronicle for what is on it and I MAY post some added pictures some are already in my gallery. I'm in Phoenix AZ it's a pickup here. A buyer from out of state can stay overnight in my nearby Brother in laws home to complete the transaction. I don't have time to talk to the DMV for any items regarding a sale to out of stater folks, You will have to arrange that. In state buyer is a snap.

I fully understand that no Org member may buy it, but I have a kindred feeling for the forum and thought that it would be a shame to not at least offer it to folks that appreciate what a fine and unusal vehicle it is.
hfelknor
Well, that is one damn fine Murano.
Hope that you can sell it for what you want, which will be a very fair price, if I know you.

If I needed one...........

Hope that the reason for selling is not too serious.

In the future, I guess we will all have to go over to The Phaeton form to see how thngs are going with you. :D

Don,
sorry you have to sell the Murano. But I am really sorry for your daughter.....hope things will get better. Good luck for both of you.
Eric L.
Best wishes for your family situation Grip, and I also hope your beloved MO finds a suitable home!
mfshin
Very surprised to hear you have to sell. I am the one who picked up his wind deflector and have personally seen the car with enthusiastic explanations.
One word - the car is more than just show room condition.
Good luck!

O yeaaaaaaaaaaaa... that poor guy doesn't know that his truck is going to look nothing like what he left it looking like. It will be totally moded...
jace
so how much do you want for it?
I'll trade you an '87 Jeep Wrangler...

j/k

sorry, had to do it

You know, you're gonna have to get used to the feeling of a transmission shifting gears again...
Gonzo
Life will never be the same... in this forrum or for his MO. I feel a disturbence in the force.

Good luck to you Grip.
SugarRushMurano
Perhaps we will meet again in the lexus forum?
GripperDon, hope our path will cross again soon :7:

I never thought I would hear you say you plan to sell your MO. I am really sorry that circumstances require it. I wish you and your daughter the very best.

Will you at least promise to stay with the forum for as long as you can?
GripperDon
Sure. I'll always love the Mo, I have put hundreds of hours of love into it. Whoever buys it get all my many many bulbs and extra parts and a huge collection of info. a big roll of B-Quite, a extended warrently, Xtire, and a bunch of pictures and stuff. I wish I could just give it to a really deserving Mo lover but unfortunately I can't.

It's like giving up a cherished pet for adoption. "They better treat it right!" :)

The 6 cans of scotch guard (probably still have one in my lungs) etc. If anyone knew how many hours I have in getting the best balance and alignment job on any Mo they would shreek. An that hand applied undercoating (UGH)

Wheel wax and clay baring ++++ Add that to a dozen other things I can't take time to cover and you can bet I expect plenty of report's if it sold to a MO Member. I really Hope so, as selling to a stranger is like giving to the humane society. (We already have to do something like that with my Daughter 10 Cats and that alone is enough)(looking for a guaranteed no kill facility.)

So I will hang around and live vicariously and hope to hear how she is doing. [B] this coming up witha price is tought work want it to move fast but no time to haggle, so it will be a bargain (st least in my opinion) probably not all others as t no one really knows what all that stuff costs, with taxes, shipping, etc. But I'll get there and trying to write an ad also. Lots of MOs here now. Bou it would be neato if a Phoenix Moer got it, It could stay out of any snow and salt, It will miss it's AC garage though. :(

i think i might be the only guy in this forum who does not own a murano! and the only reason why i am here, reading and sometimes posting my 2cents, is because i LOVE LOVE LOVE this car!!!
it is sliiiightly over my budget, and with gas prices going up and up, i dont think i can afford it.
It is very strange, if i see a murano and a ferrari next to each other, my head turns first at the murano. i wish i can purchase grip's murano, however i am in Canada and the complications of shipping this puppy accross seems like a huge headache!
elliotgb
Good luck Grip!
Whoever gets that MO will be getting a fine vehicle based on the time and care you put into it!
mgthe3
when I first saw ur post yesterday Don.....I was speachless.

(or typeless...)

I was going WTF?

But now that I understand (sorta) why you would sell your beloved Mo, it is a reason of noble cause, and honestly, I couldn't understand in any other way how you could let ur Mo go.

Best wishes to you and your family Don.
TheGymKid
Grip... start posting pictures to water our mouths some more...

( Don't forget that extra keyfob we bought ) :D
jaak
Noooooooooo........ I can't imagine it! :(

That really sucks Don, and I'm saddened to see you have to sell it. Especially considering why.

Would you be able to pull enough cash out of selling some of the accessories? Maybe someone locally could use help installing some of the mods you've done and make a few bucks? Yeah, I suppose neither would give the kind of cash needed...

This is where I get sad for our American brothers. While you have the world's best health care available, you certainly pay for it. We don't have quite as much available, but we don't get hammered on the cost here. (Got any Canadian relatives?)

Anyway, I hope something else comes up and makes it possible for you to keep it.
:(
hasaanbhutta
gripper, i read your post yesterday (i guess as soon as you posted it).... but i really didnt have guts to reply to it. if i had an option of any luxury car and a gripper murano, i will undoubtedly go with your MO. i can just understand how much would it hurt you to see it go when time comes. (since i saw my mo getting dinged by a shopping cart and it just killed me)

i wish you and your daughter all the best in your life.

PS> i couldnt find any post by you about what happened to your daughter, but good luck to her as well.
Eric L.
Thank you Dennis for putting those links together, so that others can understand Grip's decision too.

Wish there is a miracle, before your MO is sold, your daughter just recovers to the best of of her health.

We all know you how much you love your MO, for to sell it, we know your love your daughter so much more, and rightly so.

We wish your daugher well and are sure you will come back here with yet a newer Murano, you are hooked.
goldmu
:( All the best to you and your family Grip.
DMan
Hey GRIP,
Sad to see you go. Your daughter will be in my thoughts and prayers. Miracles do happen, so please don't lose faith. God Bless!

Dennis.

I was going WTF?

Grip selling! AHHHH, AHHHH Nooo!!!!

Don, after your much awaited return I see your news. I had been out of touch for a couple of days and I log back to see this. I am in disbelief. I was also not up to speed on your daughter. I am truly sorry and I understand.
The most important thing is helping out the family and we all understand that. We'd all do the same thing in that situation.
I hope you will drop by and add some input. We don't care if you still have the MO or not. You are more than qualified to respond to this forum. Certain people we actually feel that we personally know through this exchange. Don, you are one of them.
I wish much luck and success to your daughter and the whole Gripper brigade. I am truly saddened by this news.
Please stay with us Don.
Just one of your many forum friends.
Bob :(

Best wishes, Don.

I'm no lawyer but it seems to protect the parties on both sides quite nicely. Assuming this might be a copy & paste from the document you plan to use, in the partial quote above you might want change 'weather' to 'whether'; take the extra 'f' out of modifications and put a space in before the last word (ability).
GripperDon
and thanks also.

I would include the vin number in the document.

Good Idea, Thanks, Don

I don't know about AZ but here in CA we use "AS IS"

Try this.

I understand that this auto has been modified and is being sold "AS IS"

X____________

If you have broken some law, fancy words aren't going to help one bit. Auto regulations are set in stone.

All you want to do is to disclose that it has been modified. If you try to list the modifications and forget something your in worse shape. You may need to defend yourself for not listing it.

We all know how the dealers are when it comes to mods. Chances are they will say a mod caused an issue and they wont cover it. The words "AS IS" will transfer the liability from you to the new owner.

IN CA the only liability "AS IS" doesn't cover is the ability to pass emissions testing.

IMO less is better.

Noted Thanks

First off I would like to wish you and your family well Gripper and I am sincerely sorry about the bad news. I never realized how personal these forums can get. I have only read your posts and never really had any personal contact with you, but I am genuinely sad about your situation...

On another note, I can't believe you're only asking 29K, I think it's a steal. I would be tempted to buy it, but I drive my Murano too much and I know one trip from San Jose to LA and the front end would have bunches of chips and dents. Your Murano should go to someone who doesn't need it as a daily driver...I can't even believe I said that cuz if I had a nicer car, like say a Ferrari I would defanitely drive it every day!!!! I am not one that believes in letting fine automobiles sit and collect dust.

Anyways, good luck on the sale and I'm jealous of the luck one to get it!!!

Thanks for all the thoughts. I could suggest the 3M or equivalent protecterant film for the front. MoPAr here in AZ did his and seems quite happy with it.

Grippee and I appreciate all the good wishes more than anyone would ever know, I feel like this is an extended family and the old grump appreciates haveing it. WE WILL be fine. Tams head injury in 1987 has been a long road for her and I guess that her situation has changed and she will be moving from external rehabilitation to an inside facility ( I can't make myself use the more standard description) So we need to get past this little "$ bump" and we absolutely will, She is now 38 and Grippee and I still believe she will emerge from this and return, hopefully better, to being able to live as we all hope. We are not down in the dumps about $ only for Tam. Wish I had the know how to fix her. Grippee has called me " Mr. Fixit" for years and am afraid I have let her down this time. But things Will get better for Tam PERIOD We are lucky to have her and it doesn't matter what her situation is, I think of all the young ladies that didn't have a chance. I remember when when I first walked into CCU back when she was in a coma and on 1 on 1 care, and I saw her that first time I actually fainted BUT in a few months she took that first breath on her own after Carol and I had watched her for a zillion hours I yelled such a hoop they almost threw me out of the place (St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Hospital in SF) while some left in the middle of the night covered in a sheet. By the time a year was over she had started to talk again and slowly things improved. She has just had a little stumble on her road and she will start back again period. (sorry for all the personal stuff, but I had been a bit vague and guess I still am but it was one of those days and I just started typing.

Back to the Magnificant MO.! I agree I really wish that someone from this forum would buy it as they would know about it's history and and how it came to be what I call the Magnificant MO. Besides I could still hear about "Her" And that foot tall pile of literature that comes along all those parts, radio dash etc. Will all be wasted on some less aware owner.

Oh well, This has still been a "Great Tour of Duty" and I have enjoyed every minute of time I have had with the MO it's time for someone else to get to love her. :)

Congrats. on selling your Mo. Glad to hear it found a nice new home.
I thought more than once about putting mine up for sale and flying out there and purchasing yours. Just dreaming really, I probably would not have been able to swing it and my other half probably would have thought I was nuts (more so than usual ;) ) I hope the sale has eased your situation somewhat and that everything works out for the best.
njmo
Seems like just last year ago this time you were pulling out of the group! Now you go and finalize the sale of the Mo! Oh well, I guess life moves on. As others have said please drop in. I guess you can be the Godfather to Mopar's Mo. That will be an excuse to keep us company.

Have a nice Turkey day to you and ALL!!!

njmo!
GripperDon
But the Mod Mo's new home is a nice couple. and I hope they will become regulars here on the forumn.

I intend to still hang around.
