| Has anyone tried running studded winter tires? I'm looking for a tire which comes with the pre-formed holes to accept studding. I'd prefer 17"rims if available. Winter tires are nice, but studs make nice a whole-lot nicer. |

| ADV - I thought studded tires were illegal in Ontario...the OPP give Manitobans a rough time about studs when going to cottage country (Kenora/Lake of the Woods) in the winter...studded tires are legal in Manitoba from Oct. thru April... most indoor parking facilities ban studs.... |

Do a little research. Winter tires have gotten REALLY good in the last few years, so they are now VERY comparable to studded tires. Plus, you get MUCH better traction on dry/wet pavement and they don't chew up the road nearly as much.
I'm done with studded tires. Never again. The benefits of them have dwindled to the point where I will go for good winter tires instead. |
