which mobile phone to use with Mo ? - Click HERE for Original Thread

You know the big storage box between the front seats.... when I open it and lift out the bin, there is a wire with 2 sockets on either end under there.
The larger socket is attached to the side of the storage compartment and the other end of the wire has a smaller socket with 2 little press buttons on either side.

This looks very much like a socket that would fit on a mobile phone.
This fact, combined with the presence of a button on my steering wheel with a phone logo on it, makes me assume that the two are related.

Is this correct ? what make and model of mobile phone can be used with this set up ?
What does the button on the steering do ?

I don't think any of the North American models have that feature. I know my 04 does not. Can you post some pictures?

I'm with zebelkhan. If you could post pictures, I'm sure we would curious to have a look at it.

My American 05 also does not have that button on the wheel or plug in the compartment.

Now I'm really curious... :)

It seems that we always miss on technology...........I guess most of us is catogorized as "bigger is better". Hence the lack of early adoption of technology.......

I would like to see the pictures too. I would love to have bluetooth enabled system in my car.

Have a look at the two attached photos which I pulled from a post by member Ferio... I hope he doesn't mind.

This is exactly what I have on my vehicle.

Does that top left silver button say "CARWINGS" ?

Is that something like Super-Pursuit Mode?

Geez, my MO sucks.

do you have picture of the console and the plugs in there?

the left button the wheel is probably for voice activation or dialling and the right one for answering calls.

Its probably bluetooth so if you have a bluetooth enabled phone, you can just do a search and see if the car comes up in the list :)

I believe that is for bluetooth. If your mobile phone has bluetooth function, you can link to the audio system so you can use the speaker to answer your call without holding your phone.:2:

I have it in mine. It's frustrating as heck to know they've been doing this for quite a while on the Japanese Murano. We explored this in a thread ages ago.

I don't understand why they believe that holding back technology on the Nissan branded products, until they've had an advantage on the Infinitis helps product sales. I didn't go get an Infiniti, I went somewhere else altogether.

By the way, if you're serious about bluetooth in the car, you could buy an aftermarket Mopar Uconnect system and put it in the Murano. Yes, it's very possible. Voice command Bluetooth.

If you use a web translation tool and go to http://www.nissan.co.jp/MURANO/ you can read up about carwings. Or do a search here, because it was discussed. It uses real time data as well, to give traffic information. In Japan...

Just get used to it being called a "Mullah no". Say it fast. I laughed when I saw the translation tool do this. Sounds like Murano with a heavy Japanese accent!

Hi guys...

Its NOT bluetooth.

You have to hook up an analogue mobile phone to the lead provided inside the center console. a 12V power socket is also provided in there for a car charger for the phone.

It is all useless here in Sri Lanka. We use the more advanced Digital mobile phones while Japan seems to be still using analogue phones.

Japan does not use Analogue phones. They use 3G phones and have done so for years. Odds are, Sri Lanka is on GSM. Maybe you can get a list of compatible phones with the MO and buy one? Many 3G phones work on GSM as well.
