Sounds Like "Whap, whap, whap" - Click HERE for Original Thread

Actually, it sounds like a flat tire.

The "noise" gets faster as I go faster. (I think it's the front right)

Tires look OK. Pressure is OK. Drives OK. Just sounds like I have a flat.

Before I go to the tire store (who will undoubtedly recommend tires) is there any other possible cause for this noise?

I am starting to have that too. I think it maybe the tire and the only way I can think of validating that is to move the wheel to the back to see if the sound changes location but Have not had time yet.

It is possible that the steel belt inside the tire may have broken and is causing the tire to be out of balance, hence the noise. This is a rare occurrence but it happen to me. Get the tires check out soonest.

In my past experience with broken belt I have noticed that the tire would become out of round so there will be some sort of a vibration. Maybe this is the early stages? I know the noise from my car is slowly, but surely, getting worse but no vibration yet...

I had this right after installing Stongard. Stopped my car 3 separate times to try to figure it out. Finally noticed that it was a piece of their plastic film stuff that had gotten stuck to the inside of the tire and was whapping against the back of the wheel well.

Since it's coming from a particular tire, I suggest jacking up the car and taking that one tire off. Look it over closely. If you don't see anything wrong, switch it with a different tire and see if the noise is still in the same spot or moves to the new location. If it's the tire, take it to a tire specialist. If it stays in the same spot with the tire now at a different location, then take it to the dealer (if still in warrantee, of course, otherwise take it to a better and cheaper place).
